As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the announcement of Sid Meier’s Civilization 7 has sent ripples of excitement through the gaming community. The addition of Gwendoline Christie as the new narrator is a masterstroke, bringing a fresh and captivating voice to the strategic narrative that we all know and love.
Firaxis will be releasing the next installment of their popular strategy game, Civilization, titled Sid Meier’s Civilization 7. Set to hit stores early next year, this new addition brings a fresh voice to its 4X gameplay formula. The renowned actress Gwendoline Christie, famous for her role as Brienne of Tarth in the Game of Thrones series, has joined the team as the game’s narrator. Take a look at the reveal trailer below.
At the game’s release, Firaxis and 2K have detailed there will be three versions to choose from. The standard version, priced at $69.99 on all platforms except the Nintendo Switch ($59.99), comes with just the main game.
On Nintendo Switch, the Premium Version retails at $89.99, while on other systems it’s priced at $99.99. This premium version includes the game itself, early access for five days before general release, the Crossroads of the World Collection DLC post-launch, as well as the Tecumseh and Shawnee Pack and the Deluxe Content Pack.
Lastly, there’s a special offer called the Founders Edition, which is digital-only and available until February 28th, 2025. It costs $119.99 on Switch and $129.99 everywhere else. This edition offers all the advantages of the Deluxe Edition, plus the Founders Content Pack and post-launch Right to Rule Collection DLC.
On both Xbox and PlayStation consoles, dual-gen entitlement is applicable to all digital versions. But, this feature pertains exclusively to the physical editions for Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, as the PS4 variant is solely digital.
Mark my words, I can hardly contain my excitement as I eagerly await the launch of my favorite game, the next installment in the legendary series, Sid Meier’s Civilization 7, set to hit stores on February 11th, 2025.
