As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for games with stellar voice acting, I can hardly contain my excitement for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33! The French cast is nothing short of a dream come true, especially considering the caliber of actors on board.
Following the unveiling of the English voice actors for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Sandfall Interactive has now announced its French cast. Listen to their voices in the recently released gameplay trailer, which also provided a release date estimate. However, it remains unclear if you can unlock costumes and baguettes within the game.
In this cast, you’ll find Alexandre Gillet, who takes on the role of Gustave. He’s widely recognized for his work as a voice-doubler for Elijah Wood and Ryan Gosling, providing voices for films such as the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Notebook, and others. Adeline Chetail portrays Maelle, and she brings her dubbing skills to projects like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and the The Last of Us series.
Céline Melloul plays Lune and has provided the French voice for characters like Aerith in Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Nico Robin in the One Piece anime. Sarah Cornibert of Black Mirror and Lupin the Third fame voices Sciel, while Féodor Atkine, who plays Renoir, is known as the French voice for Emhyr var Emreis in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Then you have Slimane Yefsah, who plays Verso and has had roles in Assassin’s Creed Origins and League of Legends.
As if it wasn’t already exhilarating enough, I find myself in a state of sheer delight knowing that Bruno Magne, the mastermind behind iconic characters in God of War Ragnarok and Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Maxence Cazorla, whose work graced Ineffable and Eon’s Echo, are part of this incredible ensemble. However, details regarding their roles are yet to be disclosed.
In spring of 2025, the game titled “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33” will be available for purchase on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC platforms. The game costs $50 and the developers claim it will take approximately 30 hours to complete its main storyline.
