As a long-time fan of fantasy games and a connoisseur of voice acting, I can hardly contain my excitement for Clair Obscur: Expedition 33! The star-studded English voice cast is simply mind-blowing, with familiar voices from Daredevil, Baldur’s Gate 3, The Sandman, Final Fantasy 16, and even the likes of Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes, Star Wars, Black Panther)!
In addition to unveiling a fresh gameplay trailer for “Clair Obscur: Expedition 33”, its developer Sandfall Interactive has simultaneously disclosed the complete English voice cast for the fantasy RPG, boasting quite a lineup of famous talents. Furthermore, they have shared new insights on some of the game’s principal characters through an update posted on the PlayStation Blog.
In this story, Charlie Cox, best known for his role in Daredevil, portrays Gustave, the chief engineer on an expedition named after him (Expedition 33). Determined to overcome the Paintress, Gustave aims to secure a brighter future for the citizens of Lumière, where he spent his childhood. Additionally, there’s Maelle, a reserved and solitary character who serves as Gustave’s foster sister within the expedition at only 16 years old. Jennifer English, who previously voiced Shadowheart in Baldur’s Gate 3, provides Maelle’s voiceover.
Moreover, Lune serves as the lead researcher for the Expedition, lent voice by Kristy Rider from “The Sandman.” With a vested interest in overcoming the Paintress, she seeks to complete the work that her parents initially started. Additionally, Sciel, portrayed by Shala Nyx from “The Old Gyard,” is characterized as a tranquil and upbeat combatant.
A significant figure in the storyline is Verso, often appearing to follow the Expedition for reasons yet unknown. This enigmatic tracker is voiced by Ben Starr, who lent his voice to Clive Rosfield, the main character from Final Fantasy 16. According to Starr, Verso is a complex individual, marked by feelings of loss, loneliness, and peril.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that the extraordinary Andy Serkis, known for his unforgettable roles in The Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes, Star Wars, and Black Panther, has joined the voice cast for Expedition 33. In this exciting new project from Sandfall Interactive, he’ll be bringing to life Renoir, a man who stops at nothing to save his family. Facing off against the formidable Paintress, Renoir is ready to pay any price for victory.
To wrap things up, Rich Keeble and Maxence Cazorla are now officially part of the game’s ensemble. However, Sandfall Interactive has yet to reveal who these talented actors will portray in the story.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launches next Spring for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
