Clare Crawley is navigating an unmeasurable loss.
Previously on “The Bachelorette,” the cast member revealed that her beloved mother, Lilia, passed away following a prolonged struggle against Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
On February 6th, Clare, aged 43, expressed her feelings in her Instagram Stories: “Going over all your messages has brought so much comfort to a heart that was feeling heavy. Many of you have been by our side throughout this journey. Despite being mentally prepared for the fact that we were on borrowed time due to my mother’s dementia, I can’t express enough how much it hurts to lose her. No amount of preparation could have eased this pain.
43-year-old Clare is finding comfort in the company of her dear ones as well. In her recent post, she shared a picture with her husband Ryan Dawkins and their 12-month-old daughter Rowen Lily Dawkins, expressing, “She’s my source of strength at this moment.
Before sharing the heartbreaking news, Clare had hinted at her mother’s deteriorating health, referring to her mom as her “eternal guardian angel” earlier on.
As she thought back on their wedding anniversary, she spoke about the special relationship her mother had with her deceased father, James.
On February 2nd, she posted on Instagram: “Yesterday marked our second wedding anniversary, and it reminded me what a precious gift marriage is to me, specifically being married to @ryandawkins. Originally, we had planned to take a trip together, but he’s been by my side through the day and night as we help my mother find her way back to the love of hers in her final moments.
She added, “He has been my strength in my weakest moment. This is what love truly is.”
