Cloak and jabber

As a seasoned television critic with years of experience under my belt, allow me to share my thoughts on the latest sensation sweeping across the small screen – The Traitors: Uncloaked. Much like a fox slipping through the castle gates, this series has managed to elude expectations and capture our collective hearts.

Add The Traitors: Uncloaked to your watchlist

You’re the man behind The Traitors’ companion show — have you seen the new series yet?

I’ve glimpsed certain aspects, yet I’m bound by secrecy to disclose nothing! They are quite guarded with their revelations, only exposing what’s necessary for me to conduct interviews with the contestants. Frankly, if they handed me everything at once, I suspect my excitement might run away with me!

Intriguing, murderous and twisty.

Watching this fresh group approach the castle is quite intriguing. One can’t help but ponder, “Will they be the ones to win over everyone’s affection, or will they turn out to be the antagonists?

Does Claudia Winkleman give you any hints about what happens?

Claudia is impossible to get any hints from! I’ve been on her radio show, and she wouldn’t even talk about it off-air. She guards those secrets with her life. There is no point trying to get spoilers out of Claudia.

Why do you think The Traitors has captured the nation’s attention?

Despite its non-British origin, there’s an undeniable British vibe to it – it’s reminiscent of a drawing room game, something you might play at a social gathering with friends. It has a thrilling atmosphere but isn’t overly serious – no one is actually harmed in the game, but when someone is “murdered” in the castle, the tension is palpable! The production quality of this show is exceptional, from Claudia’s hosting to the editing and music. It’s a true masterpiece.

I’m eagerly looking forward to participating in the final episode of Uncloaked once more, as it feels uncommon to experience such a wide audience nowadays. It truly embodies the essence of special, prime-time television.

There’s a celebrity Traitors coming up — are there any fellow comedians you’d like to see on it?

Initially, I’m unfamiliar with the celebrity edition, but there are numerous comedians who I’d delight in seeing participate – Nish Kumar, Josh Widdicombe, Rosie Jones to name a few. However, I doubt they would excel in it! Judi Love is another one, she’s so transparent, yet I believe she could also convincingly deceive others if needed.

In a different phrasing, here’s how you could express that: I wouldn’t fare well in this situation. I’d likely enter overconfidently, only to crumble regardless of whether I’m perceived as a Traitor or an Ally. My performance would be so poor that it’s unlikely I’d maintain my career afterwards.
