CM Punk Calls Out WWE Champion Following Bash in Berlin Win

As a long-time wrestling fan who’s seen the industry evolve over decades, I must say that CM Punk’s return to WWE and his victory against Drew McIntyre at Bash in Berlin was nothing short of exhilarating! The way Punk handled McIntyre, putting him to sleep and securing his first singles win since returning, was a testament to his skills and resilience.

At WWE’s “Bash in Berlin” Premium Live Event, CM Punk finally avenged Drew McIntyre for months of harassment. McIntyre had attacked him behind the scenes, stolen personal items bearing the names of his wife, AJ Mendez, and their dog, Larry, and had been a constant annoyance in Punk’s life. In the end, Punk knocked McIntyre unconscious, winning the intense Strap Match and claiming his first singles victory since returning to the ring.

After his bout with McIntyre, Punk was queried about future plans since things between them seem to be in the past. Punk clarified that he intends to take a shower, grab some donuts and watch the main event featuring World Heavyweight Champion Gunther versus Randy Orton. He’s eagerly awaiting the outcome as many would say, “let the best man win.” However, Punk feels it should be “let the best man win because the superior one is coming for you.” He then confidently declared his claim on the championship title.

Gunther and Punk have never come face-to-face as Punk just returned to WWE last year but a title match between those two could certainly set the tone for his WWE run, much like the Strap match did. Punk has only wrestled in three televised matches since his return at Survivor Series, the Royal Rumble putting a halt on his plans for the better part of 2024. There’s no shortage of opponents or stories for him to dive into, especially with Seth Rollins who he has had issues with that date back years. Kevin Owens doesn’t seem to be quite fond of the “Second City Saint” either.

As a newly crowned World Heavyweight Champion, I’ve stepped into this prestigious role that seemed to lack its luster ever since Rollins let it go at WrestleMania 40. After relinquishing my Intercontinental Championship, I decided to aim for a different kind of glory. And guess what? I defeated Damian Priest, claiming my first World title on the main roster. At Bash, I faced “The Viper” Randy Orton again, following our questionable King and Queen of the Ring match. This time, there was no room for a messy conclusion as Orton aimed to equal his World Title record. In the end, it was me who emerged victorious, successfully defending my title in my very first title defense.
