During the Money in the Bank press conference, Punk announced that he had informed Cena of his desire for one final bout between them before Punk retires. Over the years, they have faced off against each other with impressive results, but collaborating as a tag team has been limited. Last autumn, Punk rejoined the WWE following a two-year tenure in AEW that marked his comeback to pro wrestling.
