CoD BO6 Zombies: What’s confirmed about this year’s mode?

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the latest announcement from Treyarch for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has me truly excited! The new save and pause components they’ve introduced for Zombies are a game-changer, especially for those like myself who often find themselves needing to step away from their screens for a moment.

The most recent installment in the Call of Duty series, known as Black Ops 6, is under development, and much like its top-tier predecessors, it will include a fresh Zombies gameplay mode.

The beloved game mode is back in Black Ops 6, which takes the longest to develop among all Call of Duties, so it’s obvious that people expect great things from it.

Even though the release of the game is scheduled for October, there’s already a flood of information emerging about the main storyline and the Zombies mode specifically.

In contrast to Modern Warfare 3’s open-world exploration, Black Ops 6 is returning to its roots – most notably, the classic round-based Zombie mode is making a comeback. Engaging in thrilling, action-packed sessions where you fight wave after wave of zombies until ultimately succumbing, is what truly sets this game apart.

As the launch date for Black Ops 6 approaches within a matter of months, here’s an overview of the Zombies mode: details on characters, playfields, weaponry, special features, and beyond.

Will CoD BO6 have Zombies?

Indeed, it’s been verified by Treyarch, the creators of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, that the popular mode Zombies will make a comeback in this first-person shooter game.

Since its debut in World at War in 2008, Zombies mode has been a beloved choice among fans. It’s featured in most Call of Duty titles, either included with the initial release or added later on as an update.

In some contemporary Call of Duty: Modern Warfare releases, the Zombies game mode was absent, but the Black Oops series, particularly recognized for this feature, won’t skip it in Black Ops 6 either.

What do we know about CoD BO6 Zombies?

In Black Ops 6, the much anticipated return of round-based Zombies is on the horizon. This means that one to four players will join forces to endure a thrilling cooperative survival experience, aiming to survive as long as possible against an increasingly intense wave of zombie attacks.

In Black Ops 6, the storyline for the Zombie mode, created by developer Treyarch, will carry on from where it started in Black Ops Cold War, following the Dark Aether narrative.

As a die-hard movie buff, I can’t contain my excitement! The intriguing trio – Elizabeth Grey, Grigori Weaver, and Mac Carver – are making their grand return to the silver screen after their harrowing imprisonment. Joining them in this thrilling tale is the fresh face of Maya Aguinaldo. And here’s the real twist: Doctor William Peck will be back to haunt us once more as our formidable antagonist!

In this scenario, you’ll find that taking down zombies involves three types of weapons: a main weapon, a backup weapon, and a close-combat weapon. If a backup weapon isn’t found yet, the player must resort to using their bare fists.

In simpler terms, our main arsenal consists of an Assault Rifle, Submachine Gun, Shotgun, Light Machine Gun, Marksman’s Rifle, Sniper Rifle, Pistol, and a Launcher.

Based on IGN’s firsthand experience, these features are slated for a comeback: Global Progression, the Classic Prestige system, the iconic Wonder Weapons, the ability to customize weapons, map-specific intelligence systems, and the quirky GobbleGums.

It’s intriguing to note that in Black Ops 6, Zombies are set to incorporate a fresh save-and-pause feature. Recently, Treyarch unveiled the specifics about how they plan to implement this innovation in a blog post.

  • Pausing: You can elect to pause your Solo match to take a quick break. After a finite amount of time without continuing to play, the game will automatically save the match at the point it was paused. Load the save file to continue.
  • Saving: For the first time in Zombies, you can elect to save your Solo match at any time, provided you are at full health, aren’t downed, dead, or actively engaged in an Exfil. Load the save file to continue. Again, if enough time passes while you’re AFK, the game will automatically save your game state so you won’t lose your progress.
  • Recovery: On the rare occasion that the game’s servers, your internet, or a combination of the two conspire to prevent your continued enjoyment of the game, and you disconnect…
    • Solo Players: Load up your save close to the point in time you disconnected and continue from that point.
    • Squad Players: If you disconnected from a Squad Match but the Host is still active, you can rejoin and continue the match after a small period of time spectating.

As a passionate movie-goer enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6! Terminus

Initially, Terminus was the first Zombies map to be verified, positioned as an island nestled within the Philippine Sea. Scientists from Project Janus have constructed transport portals by sea, enabling quick and convenient navigation across the map. While swimming is technically permitted, it’s not recommended. Given its size, Terminus is projected to rank among the largest maps ever included in this game mode.

Liberty Falls

Liberty Falls serves as the second confirmed Zombies map, situated in the state of West Virginia. Known as the “heart” of the Dark Aether contagion, it’s believed that the town’s inhabitants were affected by the consequences of a dual, synchronous rift in dimensions.

More details surrounding Liberty Falls are set to be revealed on 28th August 2024.
