As an analyst, I’ve just reviewed the latest updates from Activision regarding Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer, Zombies modes, and Warzone. They addressed some concerns, such as resetting cross-play settings, but unfortunately, the persistent BSOD bug in Warzone for PC players remains unresolved, according to their recent social media post and Trello board update. The Call of Duty team is aware of this issue and continues to work on finding a solution, although it’s not yet reflected in these latest patch notes.
The live update rolled out on Monday night mainly concentrated on enhancing Call of Duty’s Ranked Play mode. A recent modification included an option to turn off Cross-play in Ranked within the settings, but a glitch caused these settings to revert back whenever a player exited and restarted the game. This problem has been rectified with this new patch.
In this game setting, as an observer, I noticed a fresh addition to the Ranked Play experience – a long-awaited community request called ‘Vote to Forfeit’. This feature is primarily designed for multiplayer Ranked teams in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, who encounter situations where a teammate disconnects or abandons a match that’s not going as planned. Instead of being stuck with an uneven match or watching a lopsided game unfold, players now have the power to initiate a ‘Vote to Forfeit’ via the in-game Options menu, once per match.
Once started, players can keep pressing their designated button/key to cast a vote about staying or leaving the Ranked game without facing suspensions or other consequences related to quitting early. Although the game will be considered a loss and influence Skill Rank, Loss Forgiveness might come into play if a teammate who was matched with you had abandoned the game before the forfeit occurred.
Beyond the enhancements made to Ranked Play, the recent update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has resolved two issues as well. Firstly, it fixed a problem where the “Redemption Arc” calling card wasn’t tracking correctly, and secondly, it addressed a glitch that caused mode-specific tags to be missing on some cosmetic and functional items.
In the patch notes for February 3, the developers mentioned that zombie enthusiasts were taken into account too. They explained that they rectified an issue where the Aether Lantern could become indestructible if it was frozen before beginning a Constellation puzzle on the latest map, The Tombs. This exploit with the Hand Cannon had resulted in excessive damage beyond what was planned. The correction of this exploit has caused some discontent within the Zombies community, as they saw it as an alternative strategy for high rounds, rather than constantly using mutant injections.
In each update, the Call of Duty team mentions that they’ve included “multiple fixes for stability,” but they don’t often elaborate on the specific problems they’re tackling to enhance game stability. However, they have focused on resolving one particular problem that has been causing trouble in Call of Duty: Warzone – the infamous Blue Screen of Death (BSOD).

Since the release of Season 2 for Black Ops 6 and Warzone, many gamers have been encountering the problematic BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). However, until today, neither Activision nor the Call of Duty team has acknowledged this persistent issue. Today’s patch notes officially recognized the BSOD errors on the Trello board for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 as a known problem affecting PC players. Unfortunately, they did not provide any details about a potential fix or workarounds.
Despite some persistent BSOD issues in Call of Duty: Warzone, this latest update addressed other minor glitches. Regrettably, an age-old problem resurfaced when the development team temporarily removed the Weaver Repairman operator skin for further examination and potential resolution.
In the Call of Duty store, the Repairman skin is sold as part of a package priced at 2400 CoD points. However, due to a glitch, this skin becomes almost invisible in Warzone, leaving players unable to use it effectively. Unfortunately, since it’s a paid item, the developers have not re-enabled it until they find a solution for the bug. Despite this issue, the bundle is still available for purchase in the store.
Additional bug fixes for Warzone include the following:
- Adjusted the “Aerial Inferno” Challenge objective to purchase 3 Killstreaks at any Buy Station.
- Fixed an issue causing “Cross-Play On (Consoles Only) and “Cross-Play Off” settings to reset when relaunching Call of Duty.
- Fixed an issue preventing players from cancelling their armor plating animation with Quick Fix equipped.
- Fixed additional collision issues on Urzikstan that allowed players to exploit geography.
- Fixed an issue causing incorrect Ranked Play deployment fees to display for Iridescent and Top 250 players.
- Fixed an issue causing some Challenges to disappear while navigating the Legacy section of the Armory.
- Fixed an issue that prevented the Gold Competitor Operator Skin from being properly awarded in Ranked Play.
The latest update incorporated several tweaks to weapons as well. For instance, the leg modifiers for the Model L assault rifle have been boosted, while the damage dealt by the Jackal PDW has been reduced. Additionally, there’s a minor enhancement to the KSV. Furthermore, the newly introduced LMG from Season 2, the Feng 82, has received a substantial boost in power.
