Colin Egglesfield is sharing inspiration amid a tough life challenge.
In more straightforward terms: The actor known for “Something Borrowed” movie has shared his story about overcoming prostate cancer, having previously fought against testicular cancer on two occasions during the 2000s. This battle took place alongside Kate Hudson, John Krasinski, and Ginnifer Goodwin in the 2011 romantic comedy.
It’s good news,” Colin posted on Instagram on January 21st, “that we discovered my prostate cancer early. After spending a year delving into research and consulting numerous healthcare experts, I chose to take the initiative and undergo surgery.
As a lifestyle expert reflecting on my personal journey, I found myself revisiting a quote I shared back in 1998, well before I faced the challenges of testicular cancer at age 51 – a diagnosis that came shortly after I joined the cast of “All My Children.” The wisdom from that bygone era resonates even more profoundly now.
Colin remembered saying, ‘It doesn’t matter the cards you’ve been given, as you can’t alter that. What truly matters is how you play those cards.’ In line with what I expressed during my interview, this quote serves as another chance to determine who I will become in response to the uncertainties and challenges presented by my recent cancer diagnosis.
Amid his health update, he also emphasized the importance of community amid struggles.
Colin emphasized that this serves as a gentle nudge to all of us, reminding us that we’re never alone in our struggles, and it’s crucial to stand up for ourselves when it comes to our well-being. This involves regular checkups, gathering information about our health, and not hesitating to ask for assistance when necessary. Colin also expressed his gratitude to those who have been there for him, offering their support and kind words. Every day, he feels their encouragement and is becoming more resilient and healthy.
And the Client List alum also shared that he is on the mend after his procedure.
He chuckled, still feeling a bit of discomfort but seeing improvement and aiming to return even more robust and healthy than before, with the help of his handy walker. It’s about taking that first step, standing firm in your choices amidst adversity. I am choosing RESILIENCE, FAITH, COURAGE, GRACE, and INSPIRATION. What will you decide to embody?
Underneath his post, Colin was showered with affection, even from his ex-co-star Chrishell Stause on “All My Children”.
The “Selling Sunset” celebrity penned: “It’s just not right!” Instead of continuously demonstrating your resilience, I wish things could be different for you. Sending you an abundance of affection and support during this time.
