In preparation for the forthcoming third season, the minds behind Colin from Accounts have teased an unexpected turn – the narrative will leap forward in time by several years.
Harriet Dyer, who portrays Ashley and jointly created the show alongside her real-life partner Patrick Brammall (portraying Gordon), had earlier hinted at a potential time leap after the conclusion of season two. However, she didn’t dismiss the possibility that the series could proceed without such a leap.
In the finale of Colin from Accounts, a series up for a BAFTA in the International category, there was an unexpected moment when Gordon spontaneously proposed to Ashley. However, she declined his offer, causing him embarrassment and leaving the state of their relationship uncertain.
Instead, let’s move ahead from the immediate aftermath of that incident and join the duo, along with Colin, at a later stage in their adventure.
The quirky love story between imperfect yet lovable characters Gordon and Ashley unfolds after a car accident involving a dog. Since its debut in 2022, “Colin from Accounts” has garnered praise and award recognition, clinching the Logie Award for Best Comedy Program and receiving nominations at prestigious events such as the Monte-Carlo Television Festival.
Dyer and Brammall initially didn’t anticipate the series gaining a global audience, confessing that they were unsure if it would air beyond their home country, Australia.
Dyer clarified, “Initially, we thought it was just for Australian audiences; we never anticipated international sales. Frankly, we were unsure if Australians themselves would take a liking to it!
Brammall stated: “We wrapped up filming the first season, and we were pleased with what we created. We wondered if others might enjoy it too, but we certainly did. It’s heartening to see the affection it’s received since then.
