The game College Football 25 laid the groundwork for the resumption of the popular series. EA Sports did well in giving players many key features they desired with the initial release, but there was definitely room for enhancement. This was particularly noticeable in the somewhat limited Road to Glory mode. Constructing a college football star in College Football 25 was not very deep, and EA recognized that they needed to expand this mode. Fortunately, it seems that EA Sports College Football 26 is moving towards positive developments in the Road to Glory mode. A recent detailed look has shown several significant changes we can expect this year.

In College Football 26, the standout new feature in Road to Glory is a more comprehensive high school gameplay mode. This time around, you’ll be required to “create your highlight reel,” which essentially means excelling during crucial moments to pique the interest of colleges nationwide. Alongside the challenges presented within the game itself, Road to Glory offers a player-centric approach to recruiting, similar to the Dynasty mode but with a stronger focus on individual players.
As a fan in Road to Glory, the recruitment process takes a unique twist compared to being a coach. Instead, it’s about building connections with schools, striving to secure that coveted scholarship. Each week presents various opportunities you can seize, some even enhancing your standing at specific schools. This way, you can strategically focus on the schools you aspire to join, while keeping some flexibility based on your in-game achievements and performance.
Obtaining a high-quality scholarship matters more than simply playing for a particular school. If you receive a superior offer, it will enhance your XP, Skill Points, and Coach Trust. To put it another way, the trust you build with your coach becomes increasingly valuable as it can unlock new abilities, thanks to an improved system. This makes strengthening your relationship with your head coach even more advantageous.

Additionally, you’ll encounter various novel situations, an enhanced Non-Interactive Learning system offering additional enhancements, and a fresh mechanic named Coach Happiness. This mechanic resembles the unpredictable Coach Trust but alters more frequently from one week to another, providing you with temporary advantages (or disadvantages).
The new developer blog from Electronic Arts only scratches the surface of all the topics they covered. If you’re interested in reading every detail, including some hints about the enhanced connection between Road to Glory and Madden NFL 26’s Superstar mode, be sure to visit their official website. The document, which spans over 50 pages, is packed with information, offering a comprehensive view of everything that’s coming up this year.
It seems promising, but it’s tough to gauge its full capabilities until we actually get our hands on College Football 26. Fortunately, the wait is almost over as EA Sports College Football 26 is scheduled to debut for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on July 10th. If you decide to go for the Deluxe Edition or MVP Bundle (which comes with an early access version of Madden NFL 26), you’ll be able to start playing three days earlier.
