Collin Gosselin Reveals Why He Was Discharged From the Marines

As a follower who has closely observed Collin Gosselin‘s journey, I can’t help but feel a profound sense of empathy for this young man. His dream of serving in the Marines was dashed by circumstances beyond his control, and it’s heartbreaking to see such potential go unrealized.

Collin Gosselin’s dream was cut short.

More recently, the former star of “Jon & Kate Plus 8” claimed it was his mother, Kate Gosselin, who had him institutionalized, which he believes led to him being unable to serve in the Marines.

“He shared with Entertainment Tonight during an interview on August 14th that he had been released from a training program, just shy of graduation. Upon examination of his paperwork, it was discovered that he had spent some time in an institution previously. They didn’t require any further explanation for this.”

The 20-year-old continued, “Being in an institution, that’s good enough to discharge. That’s it.”

Despite the initial setback, Colin remains determined and is actively working towards overturning the decision. He shared that becoming a U.S. Marine is one of his most cherished aspirations, as it stands out among his few other life goals.

TopMob News has reached out to Kate’s rep for comment but has not yet heard back.

After her divorce from Jon Gosselin (who together have eight children, six of whom are currently estranged from Collin and Jon), Kate placed Collin in an institution for a period of two years. Since he left the facility in 2018, Collin has been living with his sister Hannah and their father.

It was a confusing and scary time for him, Collin explained.

He expressed that he was clueless about the situation and his destination, saying, “I had no idea what was happening or where I was headed.” He shared with his family that it was the scariest moment in his life up to that point. Before this instance, he felt secure at home with his siblings and mother, but she didn’t provide him with any details about where he was going or what was transpiring.

“Collin mentioned that she stopped by only once,” he said, “and during those thirty minutes, she exclusively scolded me, claiming that I had damaged our family.”

He went on to say, “Our family lived under constant public scrutiny. After her divorce, my mother, responsible for raising eight kids, found herself under even more attention as a single parent. I firmly believe, and know with certainty, that I was placed elsewhere to shield my mother’s reputation.”

Even though he’s been estranged, Colin remains hopeful about rebuilding his bonds with his siblings, including fellow sextuplets Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel, as well as 22-year-old twins Mady and Cara.

He deeply cherishes his siblings and would never harm them. He also assured ET that he wouldn’t sully their reputations in the press. However, he believes that his mother is influencing the things they say about him in media. He thinks if they knew each other now, they could be great friends.
