Over the past few years, Sophie Thatcher has been garnering recognition as one of the rising talents in the horror and horror-themed movies and television series. In the latest psychological thriller “Companion,” she delivers one of her finest performances to date.
In simpler terms, the main character in Yellowjackets, named Iris, seems to have an ideal relationship with her partner Josh (portrayed by Jack Quaid). However, their seemingly perfect bond begins to fray when some significant truths are exposed during a stay at a secluded cabin, leading to a rapid decline.
In the initial scene itself, we discover that Iris ends up taking Josh’s life, yet the charm of the film lies in observing the numerous unexpected events that culminate in this climactic scene. Consequently, it’s advisable to approach the movie with minimal prior knowledge – despite the fact that the initial major revelation might be exposed in the poster or trailer.
One thing you should be aware of beforehand is that the movie features a soundtrack with several popular tunes, among which is the Goo Goo Dolls song “Iris” – an intentional reference to the protagonist’s name, reminiscent of Margaret Thatcher.
