Completely Free PS5, PS4 RPG Features Unknown Heroes from Other Games

We’ve recently come across one very unique project that stands out – Electric Airship and Critical Games are developing a retro-style, turn-based role-playing game. This game, titled Infinite Alliance, stars lesser-known characters from other games as its heroes.

In other words, it implies that you’ll be incorporating characters such as Glenn from Chained Echoes and the unnamed character from 8-Bit Adventures 2 into your team. Essentially, this forms a gathering of indie JRPG-style heroes, all gathered in one place.

Here’s another way of putting it: Interestingly enough, this game is entirely free! It’s not like other games where you have to spend money to progress, such as Genshin Impact. This game is truly free-to-play, but there will be optional in-game purchases available. What makes this even more intriguing is that the publisher plans to donate all earnings from these purchases to charity.

Take part in thrilling, turn-based combat featuring a diverse team of nine special characters, and meet old acquaintances, adversaries, and locations that have been given a fresh twist.

Infinite Alliance highlights the diverse creativity within the independent Japanese Role-Playing Game (JRPG) community. We’re excited to help you find your new favorite title in this exciting, free exploration!

Here’s the full roster of characters announced thus far:

Heroes

  • Glenn from Chained Echoes
  • The Warrior (named by the player) from 8-Bit Adventures 2
  • Noa from Jack Move
  • Whoopis from My Familiar
  • Vera and Arin from Eternal Remnant
  • Alexandra from Quartet
  • Rio from Shrine’s Legacy
  • Dustin from Kingdoms of the Dump

Villains

  • Drago from Beloved Rapture
  • Montam from Venaitura
  • The Fateshifter from Ephemeral Tale
  • Qliphoth—an original villain
  • And more to be announced

You’ll need to wait until 2026 for this game to be released, but it seems like the combat system in the trailer is quite intriguing.
