Concord Features Multiple Character Variants, Firewalk Looking into Leaver Penalties

As a dedicated fan of the Concord community, I’ve been eagerly anticipating the game’s release since the open beta concluded. Although the response on Steam was not as enthusiastic as we had hoped, I remain optimistic about Firewalk Studios’ commitment to delivering a high-quality experience.

The Concord open beta is now over on Steam, but the feedback from players was relatively low-key. Undeterred, Firewalk Studios continues to move forward and has announced that there will be 12 maps available when the game officially launches, as well as a large selection of customization options – no battle pass required.

For individuals apprehensive about team members leaving (as mentioned in our beta feedback), the developer is investigating several approaches. One possibility is a leaver penalty system to keep teams complete and balanced. However, this is not yet confirmed by Firewalk Studios. They encourage us to stay informed for further announcements. Additionally, it’s suggested they may consider join-in-progress for unevenly matched games.

Regarding Variants, which are distinct passive modifications for Freegunners, the developer announced there are several “unique” choices for every character. These can be acquired by making normal advancements and finishing Weekly Variant Missions.

In summary, for those who were curious about the availability of the Galactic Guide during the beta testing phase, it will be readily accessible upon the game’s release. As players progress and advance their accounts, they will uncover further information regarding the game’s background and storylines for their characters.

Launching on August 23rd, Concord will be available for PS5 and PC.
