Concord Gets First Update, Patch Notes After Launch

As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the release of “Concord” by Firewalk Studios has been quite the rollercoaster ride. The game’s initial performance on Steam has left many players, including myself, scratching their heads and wondering if it will ever pick up steam. However, as a die-hard PlayStation 5 owner, I’m hopeful that the game might find its footing on my preferred platform.

The video game “Concord,” developed by Firewalk Studios for the PlayStation platform, was released officially this past Friday, concluding its early access phase. Simultaneously, another game called “Black Myth Wukong” was also launched this week. Over the last few days, “Concord” has been a hot topic among gamers, albeit for different reasons than “Black Myth Wukong.” The player count for “Concord” on Steam has been disappointingly low since its release, with little sign of improvement in the near future. However, it’s challenging to determine the number of players currently enjoying the game on PlayStation 5.

Although the situation seems challenging for Concord, Firewalk Studios is still working on improvements and adjustments as usual post-launch, and they’ve just released their first update following the game launch. On Saturday, the developers shared a detailed list of changes and new features in Concord, along with a catalog of known problems they aim to rectify.

The changes made in the initial Concord update following launch, along with a rundown of the acknowledged problems, are detailed down below.

Known Concord Issues

In-Game Issues

  • You may experience Requeue option not being available. We are working to resolve.
  • You may briefly receive an incorrect notification about cross-play being turned on and off again.
  • Your settings and cross-play status will not change unless you manually change them in the settings or join a squad whose leader has a different setting than yours.
  • Upon logging in from a disconnection, you may receive notifications for all your entitlements. Nothing has changed for your entitlements.
  • Stats on business cards may not be fully up to date. This will correct itself with time.

Solo Play

  • There may be circumstances where you are unable to respawn. You can go to the character select to fix this.

Join In Progress

  • Sometimes late joiners will see friendly In-Air Columns with the enemy color (In-Air Columns indicate a character is flying above your view).
  • Players may lose a stock of their default variant if their team wins a round after joining late, even if they did not play that character.
  • Late joiners on Rivalry might join in the spectate state. This is due to the timing of the round being close to the end, and the late joiner will be able to play the following round.
  • There is a known issue that occurs when you restart the client, and you may need to re-equip your customizations. Your customizations have not been lost. This is currently under investigation for a fix.
  • There may be degraded PC performance over time. We are aware and working to resolve this. If you experience degraded performance, restarting the client should alleviate the issue.
  • When using an ultra-wide (UW) monitor and quitting prior to the match start, there is a chance the camera may remain zoomed in. A client restart should fix this issue.
  • On PC, you may encounter a purple screen for a prolonged period when starting the game. Please visit our Player Support Hub for troubleshooting steps.
  • If you are playing on a PC with machines below the minimum spec, you should expect degraded performance that might lead to crashes.
  • If you see a DirectX12 error (“DX12 is not supported on your system”), please verify that your PC meets our minimum requirements. The error might indicate several different issues. Please see our PC System Requirements for Concord page to learn more.
