Concord’s Open Beta Peaked at Just a Little Over 2,000 Concurrent Players on Steam

As a dedicated gamer with years of experience under my belt, I have to admit I was really looking forward to trying out Concord during its open beta. With all the hype surrounding this new hero shooter, I couldn’t wait to jump in and see what it had to offer. However, I was quite surprised by the lackluster turnout during the beta period.

Since the initial reveal of Concord this year, there’s been plenty of doubt and criticism about the game. This skepticism appears to have influenced the number of people who participated in its recent beta testing session. Despite having an open beta over the last few days, it seems not many people joined to try out its features.

I was quite surprised to see that, according to SteamDB, during its recent open beta, the game “Concord” only managed to attract a peak of 2,388 players on Steam. Granted, some of those players might have also been playing on the PS5 version or the Epic Games Store edition. However, considering we’re just on the cusp of this major shooter’s release, I would have expected a much larger player base to be forming around it.

Last week, Concord held a beta testing session for its game, which was initially intended solely for those who had pre-ordered. However, Sony unexpectedly made it accessible to all PlayStation Plus members. The beta period was also prolonged by an additional day. It’s unclear whether this decision was influenced by insufficient pre-orders or other factors. The subpar performance of the game during the beta tests hints towards the former possibility.

Concord launches on August 23 for PS5 and PC.
