Copilot Vision just launched โ€” and Microsoft already added new features

The Copilot Vision tool with Highlights is now accessible to users residing in the U.S. This feature, which has been undergoing trials among Insiders, offers real-time suggestions and guidance by observing your PC activities.

Beyond just being accessible to U.S. residents, Copilot Vision has recently added some additional capabilities. Now, it’s able to manage and switch between several applications simultaneously.

Furthermore, Copilot Vision provides a feature that allows you to request it to demonstrate steps for carrying out particular tasks inside an application. For instance, Copilot Vision could offer guidance as you play a game or suggest ways to enhance a photograph.

For Microsoft Edge users, Copilot Vision comes at no cost. However, if you’d like to utilize this feature within other applications, you’ll need a Copilot Pro subscription, priced at $20 per user monthly. You have the opportunity to test out Copilot Pro on a trial basis to assess whether it suits your unique workflow requirements.

Microsoft’s guidance on the use of Copilot Vision highlights its commitment to secure data handling, given the privacy considerations that often surround AI technologies. To alleviate these concerns, Microsoft focuses significantly on the way features like Copilot Vision utilize data.

In the context of using Vision, it’s important to note that only Copilot’s replies are kept for tracking any instances of potential unsafe interactions and outputs. On the other hand, your inputs, images, and the content of the pages you access are not recorded or saved. After a Voice session concludes, this data is erased from our system.

Unlike how it might seem, Vision doesn’t interact with the web for you; instead, its purpose is to provide answers to your queries rather than performing actions. Copilot Vision may point out certain parts of the screen to help you locate useful information more easily. However, it won’t click buttons, type text, or scroll on your behalf.

For the initial usage of Vision on Windows, Edge, and Copilot Mobile, Copilot will prompt you to confirm that you’ve read its privacy policy.

In their blog post revealing Copilot Vision’s availability and new features, Microsoft highlighted that users can choose to enable Copilot Vision as it is an optional feature.

To utilize Copilot Vision, launch the Copilot application on your Windows device and tap the icon resembling eyeglasses. Next, decide which browser window or app you’d prefer to share with Copilot. To end sharing, simply click either “Stop” or the ‘X’ button within Copilot.
