As a dedicated Corrie fan, I couldn’t help but feel suspicious about another familiar face as the probe into Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) tragic demise deepened. Alas, I’m still left in the dark about the true events of that fateful night.

After telling Carla Connor (Alison King) that her injuries were caused by a collision with a thief’s escaping vehicle, Detective Sergeant Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) shielded her daughter Betsy (Sydney Martin) by claiming her bruises resulted from an accident at work instead.

After another confrontation between Lisa and Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan), Carla found herself being questioned by her nephew, Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll), regarding some questionable actions on her part.

In the factory, Betsy shared with Carla her belief that Lisa was continuing to lie about her injuries, as she couldn’t dispel her doubts that Lisa’s mother had killed Joel. Eventually, Carla decided to reveal the truth to Betsy.

Simultaneously at the police station, Lisa persisted in her search for red cars in the local area. The car she was examining had some of its paint matching the damage.

Even though she was no longer involved with the case, Lisa proposed to Detective Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) that it might be worth looking for Joel’s belongings, as there was a possibility he had secreted them away before his untimely death.

Instead of acknowledging Lisa’s contribution, Kit expanded the river investigation on his own initiative, instructing PC Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) to update him exclusively, disregarding any input from Lisa.

In the end, Lisa felt enraged upon discovering a complaint had been lodged against her. She then approached Kit and Daisy to discuss the matter. But as Lisa surrendered her phones for investigation, it was revealed that Betsy was actually the one who made the complaint.

As a concerned film buff putting feelings into words, I found myself gripped with fear for my mom’s wellbeing when I learned about the injuries she received while on duty. Overwhelmed, I shared my concerns with Lisa, my closest confidante, through tears that flowed freely.

Lisa settled the dispute and chose to ultimately use some vacation time, prioritizing a sincere apology spree, aimed at reconciliation with Kit.

She vowed to apologize to both Daisy and then to Carla, inviting Carla to step into her life at any time she wishes.

As she bid farewell to Kit, Lisa shared a crucial detail: the individual responsible for the accident involving her car might have seen the incident of Joel’s murder.

Caught off guard, Kit returned to his job, amassing a list of red vehicles, among them his own. After erasing the record with his name and vehicle details, was it possible that he saw the murder of Joel, or perhaps even committed the act himself?
