As a long-time Coronation Street aficionado who’s seen more twists and turns than a rollercoaster ride, I must say that the latest plot twist has left me utterly spellbound! The writers have once again proven their mastery of keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.
Following numerous rumors, it has been revealed who is accountable for the demise of Joel Deering, a role portrayed by Calum Lill.
In the latest episode of Coronation Street, we found Max (Paddy Beaver) being grilled at the police station about his connection to Joel’s demise during a particularly intense interrogation.
Max was insistent he’d told the police everything he could already, but they kept going.
Jacob Roberts, known as Kit, urged Max to restart things, and Max obliged, triggering a chain of flashbacks for the audience to piece together the events of that fateful night.
Initially, we encountered Channique Sterling-Brown, or Dee-Dee, who confronted Joel in a heated exchange. However, her emotions ran high due to the situation, leading her to seize a crowbar and vocalizing her displeasure towards him.
Vile Joel hurled some disgusting misogynistic comments about Dee-Dee and Lauren (Cait Fitton).
Dee-Dee reached her limit and swung the crowbar at him, thinking instantly that she had taken his life.
But he was alive, and Dee-Dee ran away from his evil clutches.
Next, Kit arrived and had an altercation with Joel over planting evidence to frame Nathan.
After a brief confrontation, the tale shifted focus to detail Max and Lauren’s shared experiences instead.
When Joel appeared on the Lauren’s tracker, Lauren and Max set about looking for him.
In another phrase, Max located Joel’s vehicle and discovered that he was preparing to commit suicide. However, he saw Joel standing on a bridge (viaduct), and in the process, cautioned Lauren to remain inside the car.
The pair struggled, with Max eventually strangled by Joel.
Just as Joel was losing consciousness completely, an unidentified person struck him hard on the head, and while he was still trying to rise, the same individual dealt him another fatal blow to the head with a substantial rock.
The figure was revealed to be none other than Lauren.
In light of the truth being revealed, we found ourselves in a tricky situation, needing to conceal our actions. To give the appearance that it was a tragic accident rather than something more sinister, we resorted to pushing him to his doom, making it seem like a suicide.
Max chose to surrender himself, undeniably so, but it transpired that he had penned a letter to Lauren, promising to bear the blame for the murder since she needed to care for Frankie and become a mother to him.
However, Coronation Street still held a surprise, as it unveiled Dee-Dee concealing a secret item within her handbag.
When she was alone, she pulled out a pregnancy test.
