Coronation Street star confirms she’s quit amid spate of exits

In response to multiple departures among the Coronation Street cast, yet another actor has revealed she will be leaving the soap opera.

Charlotte Jordan, who’s been playing the role of Daisy Midgeley on the soap opera since 2020, has shared her plans to part ways with the cast this year.

According to The Sun, Jordan expressed her feelings about leaving Coronation Street as follows: “My time at Coronation Street is something I will forever hold dear. It’s been an honor to be a part of such an esteemed production and work alongside exceptional individuals who have imparted so much wisdom on me.

Daisy has had an outstanding four-year journey, now I’m ready to embark on a fresh phase and seek out different possibilities.

Over time, Daisy has been involved in many prominent story arcs, and her performance in Coronation Street earned her the British Soap Award for Outstanding Dramatic Performance in 2023, which was for the storyline involving Daisy being stalked.

Since 1974, Helen Worth, known for her role as Gail Platt on Coronation Street, bid farewell to the show during the holiday season. Meanwhile, it’s been announced that several other cast members are planning their departures too.

Actors Colson Smith (Craig Tinker), Sue Cleaver (Eileen Grimshaw), Luca Toolan (Mason Radcliffe), and Sue Devaney (Debbie Webster) are either deciding to leave the soap or their characters will be removed from it.

Smith shared that he was informed back in fall 2024 that his character would be written off. He expressed, “I’ve cherished every single moment of my 14-year journey as a resident on what I consider to be the best street in the world. I feel incredibly fortunate to have spent my professional years on Coronation Street.

Through the wisdom of those around me, I’ve gained a deep understanding of life. I can’t wait to see how our dear friend, Craigy, writes his own ending.”

“The people who make this place home have taught me many valuable lessons about life. I’m eagerly awaiting the conclusion of the story for our beloved friend, Craigy.

To me, this feels like the conclusion of the first act. I’m genuinely excited to discover what follows in the next stage. Here’s to the adventures that await in Act Two! Long live the cobblestones!
