It seems that a much-loved character on Coronation Street may meet an untimely end soon, as Colson Smith’s departure from the show is expected to involve quite a dramatic and possibly violent event.
As reported by The Sun, it’s expected that Craig Tinker will meet a tragic end in an intense storyline. A source close to the production has shared that PC Tinker will pass away heroically this summer.
He mentioned that this month marks his last days of shooting on the Cobbles, as he’s planning to depart permanently from now on. It’s been fourteen years since he initially became part of the soap.
Although the specifics about how he died are recent information, it was previously announced that Smith would be leaving the soap opera in 2025.
In January of this year, the actor shared the news on social media, stating that back in Autumn, he learned that Craig Tinker’s time on the Cobbles would be concluding.
He remarked: “Every moment of my 14-year residence on what I consider the finest street in the world has been nothing short of delightful. I’m profoundly grateful for having spent my childhood not just on, but also near Coronation Street.
During that period, several of Colson’s fellow actors expressed their backing for him in the comments section of his Instagram post. Andy Whyment commented: “I’m still deeply saddened and everyone here knows how much you will be missed by all of us.
I’m equally thrilled about your upcoming endeavor since I believe it will bring you great success. Moreover, our friendship has reached a level that it won’t be easy to part ways.
