Many people are keeping a close watch on the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, with both former supporters and curious spectators eagerly awaiting any new information. Yet, there’s one individual who might struggle to keep up with the latest updates: Diddy himself. Recently, the judge advised caution for both Diddy and his legal team, or risk having him removed from the courtroom.
Yesterday, the judge issued a warning following Diddy’s lawyers questioning a witness in court. The judge stated (as reported by CNN) that Diddy was attempting to interact improperly with the jury, and threatened several potential penalties, the most severe of which could result in Diddy being expelled from the courtroom.
What Bryana Bongolan Testified To In Diddy’s Trial
Yesterday’s statement centered around Bryana Bongolan, who asserted that back in September 2016, she was in Los Angeles with Diddy at Cassie Ventura’s apartment (who has already testified). She alleged that during this occasion, Diddy forcefully grabbed her and held her over a balcony. However, Bongolan stated that she remains unaware of the reason behind Diddy’s actions.
Lawyers for the defense questioned the sequence of events, arguing that Sean Combs (Diddy) and Cassie were both present in New York on the day the incident supposedly occurred. Later, it was disclosed that the witness, Bongolan, might have mixed up the date of the incident.
Recently, more allegations have surfaced against Diddy. A video showing him supposedly attacking his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura has been presented as evidence. Additionally, there have been claims that he orchestrated a car bombing. At present, the focus is on what Diddy was said to be doing during his court appearance and whether the judge will take any action regarding it.
Diddy Was Reportedly Looking At Jurors During Testimony
After Bryana Bongolan’s testimony ended, the jury was dismissed, and Judge Arun Subramanian decided to caution the defense team because, according to reports from CNN, Diddy appeared to be looking at jurors and nodding in response to several questions and answers, which could potentially influence their decision-making process. The judge then stated…
I observed your client giving a strong, affirmative nod while gazing at the jury. This behavior is entirely inappropriate.
It seemed that the judge had previously conveyed guidelines to the defense regarding this matter, advising them against interacting with the jury directly. Therefore, Subramanian emphasized that such an incident should not recur. If it did, the judge warned that he might take the step of excluding Combs from the courtroom.
The judge intends to strictly prohibit anything that might sway the jury’s decision. In another perspective, Diddy’s appearance could be seen as an attempt to intimidate witnesses. Given the concerns about witness intimidation, Diddy was initially denied bail. If there’s a suspicion that this behavior will persist, the judge might resort to the drastic step of excluding the defendant from the courtroom.
Diddy’s legal team guaranteed the judge that such an incident won’t occur in the future, suggesting that Diddy has likely had a crucial discussion with his lawyers regarding what to focus on during testimonies.
