The possible postponement of Oscar Isaac’s attendance at the 2025 Star Wars Celebration in Japan could be a clue pointing towards his return to Marvel. As per reports, Isaac won’t be able to make it to the annual event due to adjustments in his shooting schedule. Although this news has left fans disheartened, some speculate that he might show up somewhere else where fans have been eagerly anticipating and discussing. Given that filming for Avengers: Doomsday is ongoing, and Marvel’s teaser reveal accompanied by a promise of more to come, could Isaac’s absence from Celebration be connected?
Supporters of Isaac’s Moon Knight on Disney+ were disheartened when it was reported in February that there probably won’t be a second season for the series featuring the character. A year ago, Isaac expressed his desire for the character to reappear in the speculated Midnight Sons project, where he would work alongside characters such as Ghost Rider, Blade, Morbius, and Doctor Strange.
Initially, speculations pointed towards the character potentially having a significant role in “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty,” a part that was later replaced by Doomsday. Moreover, Marvel Television head Brand Winderbaum hinted at the possibility of the character reappearing within the MCU, despite no immediate plans for a second season of “Moon Knight.
In essence, Marvel Television has unfolded in successive stages, and Moon Knight was part of a series that aimed to introduce characters connected to future projects,” Winderbaum explained to ComicBook. “However, our focus has changed moving forward. We’re now creating shows designed for annual releases, more like typical television series. I would be thrilled to see a second season of Moon Knight, but there are future plans for the character.
Although only some members of the Doomsday cast have been unveiled so far, fans are optimistic that more characters like Isaac might still be added. During CinemaCon, Marvel’s Kevin Feige hinted that additional cast members would be announced this very week for the movie. If Moon Knight is indeed part of Doomsday, it could bring a fresh perspective to the project. The film’s current lineup features a variety of Marvel characters, including the original X-Men and Fantastic Four, as well as new Avengers members. Including Moon Knight in the team would be an exciting possibility, but it’s yet uncertain if the character will actually appear or if Isaac has been officially cast for the film.
As a die-hard movie fan, I’m thrilled about it! Star Wars Celebration Japan is happening in my calendar on April 18029. The highly anticipated “Avengers: Doomsday” will grace our cinema screens from May 1, 2026. For all the Moon Knight enthusiasts like me, you can catch the series exclusively on Disney+.
