As of now, we’re unsure about the exact release date for Countdown on Prime Video, but it’s reasonable to anticipate that it might come out sometime around the year 2025.
Back in November 2024, Ackles shared some backstage images from the filming location on Instagram, expressing that the crew is making good progress with the television series’ production.

What will Countdown be about?
In simple terms, the TV show “Countdown” follows the narrative of Michael Ackles’s character, Detective Mark Meachum. He gets involved with an undercover task force consisting of agents from various law enforcement units, due to a peculiar murder case that occurred in broad daylight, causing suspicion.
It wasn’t long before he and his team began to suspect a darker conspiracy was unfolding, requiring them to momentarily set aside their individual goals to safeguard a metropolis teeming with millions.
The show originates from Derek Haas, a renowned figure in the entertainment industry for his contributions to the One Chicago series. Among other accomplishments, he jointly created both Chicago Fire and Chicago PD, and contributed to the development of Chicago Med and Chicago Justice. Additionally, he is one of the masterminds behind FBI: International.
Who will star in Countdown?
In this production, Jared Padalecki (Ackles) will take on the role of LAPD officer Mark Meachum, with Jessica Camacho from All Rise portraying Amber Oliveras, a DEA agent who has served for 14 years.
In the upcoming production, Eric Dane from Grey’s Anatomy is set to portray Nathan Blythe, a seasoned special agent with 22 years of Bureau service. Meanwhile, Violett Beane known for The Flash will take on the role of Evan Shepherd, an FBI Academy graduate who excels in technology.
Completing our main characters so far are Latukefu, who plays Lucas Finau, a longtime member of the LAPD’s Gangs and Narcotics unit, and Elliot Knight, known for his role in The Boys, portraying third-generation FBI agent Keyonte Bell.
