Courtney B. Vance Reveals Surprising Truth About Parenting with Angela Bassett

In the new live-action adaptation of Disney’s classic animated film, Lilo & Stitch, the actor portraying fan-adored character Cobra Bubbles, confessed that he didn’t initially watch the original movie because his 19-year-old twins, Bronwyn Vance and Slater Vance, found it too frightening when it was first released due to their parents, Angela Bassett, feeling the same way.

In a private conversation with Francesca Amiker at TopMob News, he shared that his kids were still quite small when the film was released, causing them to be scared of Stitch.

And though Courtney was keen on watching the movie, his children firmly refused any involvement of Stitch within their home. Consequently, it was quite symbolic when the 65-year-old landed a role in its remake.

“The film’s about taking care of family,” Courtney explained, “doing the extra thing, sacrifice.”

Apart from its family-related themes, Lilo & Stitch holds a special resonance for Courtney because it premieres on May 23, coinciding with the release of his wife’s new movie, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, in cinemas on the same day.

Speaking about Angela, the former American Crime Story actress mentioned that she hasn’t returned home for approximately two to three weeks now. She’s been out of the country, busy with promotions for her film. Upon her return, they plan on discussing the matter.

In truth, Courtney’s co-star, Tia Carrere, compared the box office supremacy of the power couple to that of Tom Hanks (Barbenheimer is a nickname for Tom Hanks).

In her interview with TopMob, she jokingly referred to it as ‘Stitchion: Impossible.’ This event, she explained, will be profitable for all involved – from the kids to their parents, making it a financially successful and enjoyable weekend for everyone.

When asked about the key to his long-lasting marriage with Angela, Courtney has simply put it as a pair of straightforward words.

“‘I’m sorry,'” he told TopMob last year. “It starts with me.”

The speaker said, “Initiating humility and forgiveness is a personal responsibility. ‘How might I assist? Was it I who made a mistake? I apologize. Can you find it in your heart to forgive me? Not yet. Very well, I’ll patiently await your response.
