As a lifelong gamer and anime enthusiast with a penchant for both music and fashion, I must say that Logic’s collaboration with Crunchyroll on the Cowboy Bebop-themed line is an absolute game-changer! Growing up, I spent countless hours immersed in the vibrant world of Spike, Faye, Jet, and Ed, and to see such a beloved series brought back to life through this unique partnership is truly exhilarating.
As anime continues to grow, it should come as no surprise that more celebrities are finding themselves drawn to the medium. In the case of Logic, the prolific musician has taken his love of anime up a notch by teaming up with Crunchyroll to create a unique fashion line focusing on his favorite anime, Cowboy Bebop. While it has been years since Cowboy Bebop came to an end, the legacy of Spike, Faye, Jet, and Ed continues. In a recent exclusive interview, we were able to talk with Logic as well as getting a quote from Toshihiro Kawamoto, the director of the original anime, regarding the unique collaboration.
Logic gleefully shared his passion for the anime “Cowboy Bebop,” even revealing that he once wrote a fan fiction story featuring Spike and Faye as teenagers. When inquired about his favorite Cowboy Bebop story, Logic offered an unexpected answer: His preferred tale is the movie, “Cowboy Bebop: Knocking on Heaven’s Door.” In this extended adventure, all our characters are present, and although you may not be familiar with them, the movie offers a feature-length, entertaining experience with a great villain. He finds it delightful.
Kawamoto x Logic: Cowboy Bebop Collab
Toshihiro Kawamoto wasn’t just responsible for animation direction and character design on “Cowboy Bebop”; he was also a co-founder of Studio Bones, renowned for productions like “My Hero Academia” and “Mob Psycho 100.” With a history of working on popular anime series such as “Mobile Suit: Gundam,” “Fullmetal Alchemist,” “Space Dandy,” and more, Kawamoto was ecstatic about collaborating with Logic for this project that revived the characters from “Cowboy Bebop.” Here’s what Kawamoto shared about the partnership: “It was an incredible experience to team up with Logic, who is celebrated both in Japan and globally, especially as ‘Cowboy Bebop’ celebrated its 25th anniversary. I did my best to integrate Logic into the visual realm of ‘Bebop.’ On behalf of the entire ‘Bebop’ crew, thank you very much, Logic.”
