Craig’s Shocking Dig at Ex-Strictly Pro Sparks Fiery Clapback

Following Craig Revel Horwood’s response to comments from former Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Ola Jordan, her spouse and fellow ex-Strictly pro, James Jordan, has also offered a response of his own.

The conversation began in a 2024 interview when Ola commented to Mecca Bingo about Craig: “It seems Craig has lost his luster. People admired Craig for who he was previously. He used to speak his mind, even if it wasn’t favorable, calling things ‘rubbish,’ but now it feels like he always needs to say something positive.

It’s clear that the performers have been instructed to keep things positive by the producers, with no room for negativity in the show. However, they should also consider the audience’s preferences, as it seems overly polite or scripted to some extent.

She added that the show needed a new judge “with a bit more spice”.

In response to the post on X, Horwood referenced a title and added his thoughts: “The former Strictly professional Ola Jordan says that ‘Craig Rivel Horwood is being replaced by a more spicy judge.’ Perhaps you might recommend your husband, who is wonderful, for this position?

After CraigHorwood’s post, James responded with a question, asking: “What’s the reason for that, CraigRevHorwood? Don’t you think I could be an honest judge? It doesn’t seem like you read where she called you her favorite judge – sending love, buddy.

In 2006, during its fourth season, both Ola and James became contestants on Strictly Come Dancing. However, James continued until season 11 in 2013 before deciding to leave. Interestingly, Ola stayed a year longer, departing after the 2014 season.

Simultaneously, Horwood joined the program right from its inception, making him the sole judge who’s been there since the first season. On the other hand, fellow judge Anton Du Beke was part of the show too during that period, but he functioned as a professional dancer rather than a judge.

Last year, Horwood spoke to TopMob about how his approach to judging has evolved over the years.

As a cinephile reflecting on my past, I’ll openly acknowledge that my approach to critiquing films has evolved. In the early days, I was quite stern, perhaps even too harsh. Looking back, I can see how some of those reviews might have felt like a sharp cut – a sentiment that now feels more akin to bullying. If such criticisms were made today, they’d likely lead to my public dismissal.
