Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled Coming to Xbox Game Pass This Week

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming influx of games hitting Xbox Game Pass! The addition of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled on December 4th is just the cherry on top of an already mouthwatering lineup.

Man, I can hardly contain my excitement for this month! Not only do we have Indiana Jones and the Great Circle coming up on Xbox Game Pass, but now they’ve dropped another bomb – Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is joining the service on December 4th! As of now, there aren’t any specifics about whether it will be available through Cloud Gaming or console, but considering Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy was both back in August, I’m guessing we’ll get to race around those tracks on both platforms. Can’t wait for more details, which should be coming our way soon!

In 2019, “Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled” made its debut on Xbox One and various other platforms. This updated version of the original “Crash Team Racing” comes packed with additional features like online multiplayer and new game modes. The roster of characters to select from is vast, featuring favorites even from the Spyro series. As suggested by its title, “Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled” belongs to the mascot kart racing genre, much like games such as “Mario Kart 8” and “Team Sonic Racing.” Critics generally praised the game, with the Xbox One version boasting an 84 score on Metacritic.

In the final quarter of 2023, Microsoft completed its purchase of Activision Blizzard. It wasn’t until much later that Game Pass subscribers began to notice advantages from the merger. Microsoft gradually delved into Activision’s extensive library to expand the service’s offerings. Alongside the two Crash Bandicoot games, Game Pass introduced several Call of Duty titles and _Spyro Reignited Trilogy_. Xbox has primarily focused on recently released games, but there have been whispers about older Activision games joining the service. Some speculate that Activision’s classic Transformers series might make a comeback, although no official announcements have been made yet.

There are still a lot of old Crash Bandicoot games that could be added from Activision’s back catalog, including The Wrath of Cortex, which was released on the original Xbox. However, the game we’ll most likely see after Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled is Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. The 2020 video game was well-received upon its release, and would be a welcome sight on Xbox Game Pass. The developer, Toys for Bob, is currently working on a game that will be published by Xbox Game Studios, which many believe to be a new entry in the Crash Bandicoot or Spyro franchises. It could be a while before that gets confirmed, so Crash fans will have to settle for the current games for the time being!
