Jason Tartick admitted that, lately, not everything has been coming up roses.
Following a road trip in an RV from Nashville to New York City and back, the former ‘Bachelorette’ contestant offered insights on a recent health issue that had led him to be hospitalized.
Jason expressed his confusion on the March 24th episode of his “Trading Secrets” podcast, stating, “Things just don’t seem right with me lately.” He added, “I can’t help but feel I’m getting older and perhaps my best days are behind me.
During their exciting expedition, the 36-year-old shared an account of a back injury he apparently worsened. In reality, the pain was quite severe, as he remembered having to visit the hospital, crawling on all fours due to the intensity of his discomfort.
He went on to say, ‘Quite an unusual occurrence, actually. You might recall my mentioning it on social media, but we embarked on an RV adventure. I injured myself while lifting weights, and something triggered the pain. Let me tell you, that agony I experienced that Monday night – I sincerely hope I never have to endure such prolonged discomfort again.’
During his hospital stay, Jason disclosed that he had been wounded by a gunshot and was still administering steroids to manage the intense discomfort he was experiencing.
The former Bachelor contestant clarified that he is scheduled for an MRI examination tomorrow, and he’s crossing his fingers that it’s not a herniated disc. Instead, he hopes it will turn out to be only a bulging disc.
Currently, from the tips of my toes up to my knees, it’s still quite numb, which is surprising, he explained further. To give some context, let me clarify, I don’t want to come off as arrogant, but about two, three weeks ago, perhaps a month ago, I was squatting around 295 pounds. Right now, I can’t even do a single-leg squat without falling over. It feels like I’ve had a stroke or something similar happened.
Citing the continuous motion in the RV and his frequent weightlifting as contributing factors, Jason remarked, “We’re getting better.
It appears the sentiment extends beyond just his injury. In fact, he recently posted about his experiences since parting ways with influencer Kat Stickler in October.
He mentioned that he’s in Nashville for the entire week, and it’s been wonderful being there as it allows him to reconnect with himself a bit more since there are fewer distractions. He senses that some truly captivating chapters and new directions are on the horizon.
However, among these exciting journeys, there’ll undoubtedly be a few extra visits to the physician. Interestingly, some of these encounters have already been shared on his social platforms.
In a humorous manner, he said in a TikTok post on March 24, “Experiencing aging means having to put on shorts like these for an X-ray at the back specialist, because you’ve done something that leaves you unable to walk and your left foot is numb. That’s what growing old feels like, that’s being past one’s prime.
“If you look up ‘washed up’ in the dictionary,” he added, “it’s this.”

A former star from “Bachelor Nation” revealed that he had to visit the hospital, crawling on his hands and knees, as intense back pain swelled up, which worsened during a camping trip with a buddy in an RV.
He expressed on his Trading Secrets podcast episode dated March 24th, “At this moment, my toes to knees feel strangely numb, which is quite bizarre.” To clarify, he mentioned that only recently, perhaps around two to four weeks ago, he was squatting about 295 pounds. Now, he can’t even perform a one-legged squat without falling over – it’s as if he had experienced some sort of stroke or similar condition.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

In February 2025, the former star of Even Stevens disclosed that she had been accidentally shot in the face during a trip for a clay pigeon shooting celebration marking her husband Brendan Rooney’s birthday.
She posted on Instagram that there was another group present who accidentally discharged their firearm incorrectly and it struck her in the face. In a heartbeat, @thebrendanrooney jumped into action, evaluated her injuries, and hurried her to the hospital. Remarkably, she was wounded in five spots, with one injury just inches away from hitting her right eye directly.
The actor from Kim Possible went on to say, “Regrettably, a piece became stuck near my eye, and it’s not safe to take out with surgery right now. However, doctors are keeping a close watch on me, and I can see fine for the time being.
The actress expressed her heartfelt gratitude for being alive. She shared how deeply she cherishes her daughters, husband, family, and friends, stating, “I realized that life is precious and fleeting. I cannot stress enough the importance of embracing those close to us whenever we get the opportunity. Life can unexpectedly change in a moment’s notice.
Despite the internet being not always friendly, Amy Schumer is grateful it provided her with answers during this situation. She recounted in an episode of Call Her Daddy (January 2025) that after a series of interviews, she said, “Everyone, calm down,” but then medical professionals chimed in on the comments, suspecting Cushing syndrome based on her altered appearance. Amy humorously commented, “I’m getting trolled by doctors?”
Upon hearing from these doctors about potential Cushing syndrome due to elevated cortisol levels or steroid injections, Amy remembered receiving such treatments for scars following a breast reduction and C-section. She said, “It turns out I had been getting steroid injections in my scars.”
Amy realized that the condition she developed is called Cushing syndrome, which she might not have known about if the internet hadn’t been so critical of her appearance. Now, Amy is just relieved to know she is healthy and shared in a February 2024 News Not Noise newsletter, “Learning that I have the type of Cushing that will resolve itself on its own was the best news possible.
Hailey Bieber experienced a terrifying incident that she later described as the scariest moment of her life. This occurred during a breakfast with husband Justin Bieber in March 2022, when she began experiencing symptoms resembling a stroke.
As she struggled to respond to Justin’s questions and couldn’t speak properly, her face drooped on one side. Eventually, she was able to return her speech but went to the hospital for a check-up.
At the hospital, they detected a small blood clot in her brain, classified as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). Further investigations revealed that Hailey had a heart condition called patent foramen ovale (PFO). The blood clot had traveled into her heart through this hole, escaped, and moved to her brain, causing the TIA.
Hailey underwent a PFO closure procedure successfully and reported feeling well afterwards.
In the same year that Hailey went through her health crisis, Justin also encountered one of his own. Specifically, in June 2022, Justin Bieber announced he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt Syndrome, a condition affecting facial nerves, causing temporary paralysis to parts of his face and leading to the cancellation of the remainder of his Justice World Tour.
Justin explained in an Instagram video at the time that this virus targeted the nerve in his ear and his facial nerves, resulting in full paralysis on one side of his face. He mentioned that he could not blink one eye, smile, or move the nostril on the affected side of his face. Eating became progressively harder for him, but eventually, the paralysis subsided.
Hailey shared during a June 2022 episode of Good Morning America that Justin was doing well and feeling better after going through a scary and seemingly random situation. She added that she was grateful he was okay in the end.
Initially guarding the specifics of his April 2023 hospitalization, Jamie Foxx eventually shared his harrowing experience. In his 2024 Netflix special titled “What Had Happened Was…”, he recalled an incident in Atlanta when a severe headache led him to ask for an aspirin. Before he could get it, he passed out and lost consciousness for approximately 20 days.
Upon the advice of a doctor who administered a cortisone shot and sent him home, Foxx’s sister Deidra Dixon then drove him to another hospital where they discovered the cause: a brain bleed that resulted in a stroke. Following a surgery on the 20th day, the Academy Award winner awoke on May 4 in a wheelchair unable to walk. He was subsequently sent to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.
“I want to express my gratitude for every prayer,” he said, “as I truly needed all of them.
Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, penned an essay called “A Battle for My Life” in 2019. In it, she described a severe headache at the gym that led to vomiting and increasing pain. She suspected brain damage and was rushed to the hospital for a scan.
The diagnosis was a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a critical type of stroke caused by bleeding in the space surrounding the brain. Emilia had suffered an aneurysm, a ruptured artery. The pain during surgery to seal the aneurysm was unbearable, and she experienced aphasia, speaking nonsensical words.
A week later, her aphasia subsided, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month. However, in 2013, a growth detected during a scan had doubled in size, requiring another surgery. She recalled waking up from that operation in pain, as the procedure had failed. The doctors explained that her chances of survival were precarious, and they would need to access her brain through her skull for the second operation.
Fortunately, Emilia is now reportedly in perfect health.
Cori Broadus, daughter of rap legend Snoop Dogg, expresses her gratitude towards her family.
Following a “severe stroke” in January 2024, Cori’s loved ones swiftly rushed to her aid.
In a conversation with TopMob News‘ correspondent Will Marfuggi in December 2024, she shared, “I informed them via text that I had just experienced a stroke and sent them a photo. Everyone came to my rescue.”
Due to additional health complications, Cori’s hospital stay extended beyond her initial expectations.
“Initially, I could have returned home after the stroke, but my lupus wasn’t in good shape,” she explained, adding, “My kidneys were failing. There was a lot happening.”
Now, Cori is on the road to recovery.
“I’m doing well,” she said. “I just needed to regain some motor skills, but other than that, I was fine.
During my twenties, my health took an unexpected turn for the worse. At one point, I was losing my hearing, struggling to walk more than a few minutes without needing extended rest, and experiencing stomach pain with every meal. Different doctors gave me conflicting diagnoses and advice, making it all the more confusing.
Determined to find answers and regain my health, I embarked on a 10-year journey that combined both conventional and holistic approaches. With a background in herbalism, I sought guidance from medical professionals as well as independent healers. This quest for understanding brought about other challenges, including fear of food due to stomach pain, body dysmorphia, identity confusion, and feelings of insecurity and uncertainty about my own skin.
Thankfully, after a long and arduous journey, I am now in a much better place both physically and mentally. I can proudly say that I am healthy once again, and I am grateful for the lessons I learned along the way.
