Crazy P singer Danielle Moore dies, aged 52

As a seasoned music critic with a penchant for the pulsating rhythms and soulful melodies of electronic dance music, I find myself deeply saddened by the sudden and tragic passing of Danielle Moore, the enigmatic lead singer of Crazy P. Her life was a testament to the transformative power of music, a beacon of love, compassion, and community that resonated not only with her fellow band members but with fans across the globe.

Danielle Moore, the lead singer of electronic band Crazy P, has died at the age of 52.

In an Instagram post, the British band from the 2000s announced that member Moore passed away unexpectedly and tragically on the 30th of August. The specific reason for his demise remains undisclosed.

It’s hard for us to accept this news, and we’re sure it will be the same for everyone else. She was such a significant part of our lives and we cared for her deeply. Our hearts are shattered. We require some time to come to terms with this tragic event.

Danielle led a life brimming with love, kindness, camaraderie, and melodies. Her existence was vast and impactful. We’ll deeply mourn her absence.

In 1995, the duo, Jim Baron and Chris Todd, established the company called Crazy P, which initially went by the name Crazy Penis, at the University of Nottingham.

In 2002, Moore teamed up with bassist Tim Davies and percussionist Mav Kendricks. As a trio, they put out seven studio albums and numerous remix collections.

Moore hailed from Manchester, and it wasn’t until her eighteenth birthday that she was initiated into the city’s vibrant nightlife scene.

In an interview with Disco Pogo magazine last year, she shared that the venue was where she experienced some of her most significant and liberating dance experiences. She expressed feeling free to express herself through dance in a way that truly resonated with who she is.

Later on, the energy that characterized Moore found its way into her position as the lead vocalist for Crazy P, leaving spectators spellbound by her electrifying stage presence and heartfelt singing.

Heartfelt tributes are flooding social media over the sad news of Moore’s demise. JD Twitch of Optimo expressed it beautifully on X, saying “She was simply extraordinary. An embodiment of true beauty as a person.”
