Creed Brothers Win First Matches Outside of WWE

As a long-time wrestling fan and avid gamer, I’m thrilled to see the Creed Brothers making waves outside of WWE in events like Bloodsport. Their raw talent and impressive capabilities have been on full display, showcasing what they can do beyond the confines of the squared circle. Having followed their careers since their NXT days, it’s been a treat to witness their growth as athletes and entertainers.

Approximately half a decade after making their WWE entrance, Brutus and Julius Creed participated in their initial bout outside of the wrestling giant. The duo known as The Creed Brothers graced this weekend’s GCW/Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport show, sharing the ring with Shayna Baszler and Charlie Dempsey. Over the past year, WWE has intensified collaborations with external promotions, deploying wrestlers to Japan, TNA, and independent circuits. Previously, Baszler and Dempsey locked horns at Bloodsport during WrestleMania weekend in Philadelphia, yielding remarkable outcomes for both parties. Given Barnett’s connection to WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, it comes as no shock that these two teams joined forces once more.

Bloodsport involves brutal mixed martial arts bouts with no ring ropes. To emerge victorious, a fighter can either render their opponent unconscious or force them to yield. Julius outlasted Matt Makowski in a TKO finish after five minutes, while Brutus knocked out Tom Lawlor within six minutes. The siblings left spectators amazed by showcasing their hidden talents. They commenced their professional wrestling journey in WWE’s NXT, rapidly ascending the ranks due to their prior experiences as collegiate athletes. Their accolades comprise the NXT Tag Team Championships, which remain their sole titles thus far.

I was thrilled when Brutus and Julius, who debuted on the main roster towards the end of 2023, went up against some formidable teams such as D.I.Y., Alpha Academy, and Judgment Day. However, they unfortunately came up short in those encounters. Now, these ex-champions have teamed up with Chad Gable on Raw. Although it’s unclear what their plans are, they certainly made an impact with their attack on Bo Dallas. It looks like they might be feuding with the Wyatt Family clan next.

WWE is traveling to Cleveland, Ohio in the coming days for the SummerSlam event. Several title bouts have been announced, such as Rhea Ripley versus Liv Morgan. This will be a significant comeback for Ripley, who was dethroned by Morgan some months ago. Additionally, CM Punk is set to make his first televised singles match appearance since the Royal Rumble in January. His confrontation with Drew McIntyre has been simmering for quite some time, and Punk has intermittently appeared on-screen to advance their narrative.
