As I delve into the intriguing world of “Crime”, I find myself captivated by the complex characters that populate this gripping drama. Dougie Gillman, portrayed by Jamie Sives, is a Detective Inspector who seems to have a knack for breaking rules and mending hearts, much like a mischievous teenager caught between rebellion and responsibility. His life experience mirrors a rollercoaster ride, filled with ups and downs, but his unwavering determination to bring justice to the vulnerable is undeniably commendable.
On Wednesday, the 7th of August, I’m eagerly tuning into ITV1 for the arrival of the second season of their Crime series on ITV1. Expect another intense episode in this gripping television drama.
In this latest installment, I find myself once again delving into the complex world of Detective Inspector Ray Lennox (Dougray Scott), who has returned to the ranks of Edinburgh’s Serious Crimes unit. Eager to demonstrate his complete recovery from the emotional turmoil that followed his pivotal role in apprehending Mr Confectioner during season 1, Ray is determined to prove his mettle and regain the trust of his colleagues.
According to the summary: “When an old acquaintance of Lennox gets assaulted, Lennox and Drummond soon figure out that things aren’t what they seem as they find themselves involved in a mystery revolving around revenge, self-discovery, and fairness.”

As one of the few women on the team, she faces outdated views from some of her male colleagues.

Brian McCardie plays Norrie Erskine
Who, exactly, is DS Norrie Erskine? This character in the series is known for being Stark’s partner and harboring a number of seedy secrets. He is often perceived as unmotivated, merely completing daily tasks with the ultimate goal of receiving his pension upon retirement.
In my recollection, I’ve encountered the late Brian McCardie in several engrossing productions. He graced our screens with memorable performances on Time and Line of Duty, while also captivating me in Murder is Easy and The Long Shadow.
Gabriel Scott plays Fraser
What can you tell me about Fraser? Fraser is a university student with a curious mind and political leanings. Despite coming from a middle class, well-educated background, there’s a hint of embarrassment in his upbringing. It seems that Fraser may soon find out that his past has been more cloistered than he realized, implying that he still has much to learn.
