Cuckoo: NEON Releases Trippy Trailer for New Horror Movie

As a huge fan of both Hunter Schafer and NEON’s unique approach to horror storytelling, I am beyond excited for the upcoming release of “Cuckoo.” Schafer’s captivating performance in HBO’s “Euphoria” has left me eager to see what she brings to this genre, while NEON’s recent successes in producing boundary-pushing and visually stunning horror films have left me craving more.

As a horror movie enthusiast who has lived through countless sleepless nights after watching conventional horror films, I’m thrilled to see the trend shifting towards unconventional experiences in the genre. The upcoming “Cuckoo,” starring Hunter Schafer, looks like it will continue this exciting trend based on the latest trailer.

As a huge fan of the captivating NEON production, “Cuckoo,” I can’t help but share my perspective on this intriguing storyline. In the first person, it goes like this:

In addition to the leading actors, the film features Dan Stevens from “The Guest,” Jessica Henwick known for “Underwater,” Marton Csiksz from “Freelance,” Greta Fernandez starring in “Santo,” and Jan Bluthardt in “Luz.”

In the new project from NEON, German filmmaker Tilman Singer demonstrates his knack for crafting chilling and visually striking horror films. After the acclaimed success of “Luz,” he delivers another unique and suspenseful storyline with unexpected turns.

Founded in 2017, Studio and distributor NEON experienced breakthrough success in 2019. Films such as “Colossal,” “Ingrid Goes West,” and “Revenge” gained popularity among genre audiences. However, it was Bong Joon-ho’s “Parasite” that brought NEON significant recognition. This critically acclaimed movie earned the Palme d’Or at Cannes Film Festival, as well as the prestigious Oscar for Best Picture. Additionally, it received numerous accolades from BAFTA and the Golden Globes.

NEON consistently explores new territories in film genres with notable releases such as “The Lodge,” “Possessor,” “Titane,” and “Infinity Pool.” The acclaim garnered by “Parasite” brought about a remarkable year for NEON, but 2024 could witness another significant achievement. Among this year’s horror films, “Immaculate” and “Longlegs,” NEON has introduced some of the most captivating horror productions. The upcoming “Cuckoo” may join their ranks as a third must-see horror film for audiences.

Cuckoo hits theaters on August 9th.
