CD Projekt RED is currently basking in the joy of launching Cyberpunk 2077 on Nintendo Switch 2, but they’ve also shared news about an upcoming update for the popular game. However, the anticipation sparked by this announcement quickly subsides as the studio announces that the release of Cyberpunk 2077‘s Version 2.3, initially scheduled for June 26th, has been postponed indefinitely, leaving fans with mixed feelings – some expressing frustration while others are understanding and willing to wait.
Information regarding the postponement originated from the official X webpage for Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt RED expressed their apologies for the delay and explained that they required additional time to ensure satisfaction with the final product. Additionally, they disclosed that it would align with the 2.2 update for Cyberpunk 2077. Given the magnitude of this update, it is understandable that CD Projekt RED requires more development time.
Hi there! Friends,
We had planned to deliver Update 2.3 on June 26th, but we now require some additional time to ensure it meets our standards – we aim for a scale comparable to Update 2.2. We’ll keep you posted with further updates as soon as possible.
Thank you for your understanding!

Some Cyberpunk 2077 enthusiasts are thrilled about upcoming content, yet a segment of the fanbase expresses disappointment due to the recent announcement and quick postponement of the update. This decision has sparked numerous queries regarding the reasons behind this sudden delay, along with speculation about what new elements will be introduced. Some fans are even advocating for features they feel should have been included earlier.
CD Projekt RED has plenty on their plate right now, as they’re currently developing The Witcher 4 and have recently announced Cyberpunk 2. With multiple projects in progress, managing them all can prove challenging. It’s expected that the 2.3 update for Cyberpunk 2077 will be released before either of those other games hit the shelves; it’s simply a question of when this will occur.
