Dakota Johnson’s playbook for the Cannes Film Festival came with a surprising start.
Upon reaching the high-profile event in France linked to her upcoming movie “Splitsville“, she first took time out to catch up with a longstanding companion rather than diving into the festivities immediately.
In an interview with Vogue on the 21st of May, Dakota shared that upon arriving in Cannes on Saturday, she made a surprise visit to Jennifer Lawrence‘s after-party for her film.
Subsequently, the Academy Award recipient has been basking in her glory following the thunderous applause she received for her movie “Die, My Love” during the festival.
“She was like, ‘Stop following me!'” Dakota teased of their interaction. “That’s why I’m here.”
Spotting a familiar face before reaching Cannes provided a welcome relief for the actress from “50 Shades of Grey”, as she had never previously participated in the event.
She expressed her enjoyment by saying, “I find it delightful to see the film here that I brought to life,” and went on to admit, “There’s always a chance it might not be well-received by some, but such is the nature of the business. One learns to bounce back swiftly.

Meryl Streep was quoted saying she had been discussing the importance of doing the work, specifically being in films directed by women.
