As an observer who has dived into the world of anime and manga for years, I must say that the anticipation for Dandadan Season 2 is palpable. Having followed this series since its humble beginnings on Shueisha’s Jump+ app, it’s heartening to see its growth and recognition among fans worldwide.
After wrapping up the sensational first season of its TV anime this Fall, fans can gear up for what’s to come in Season 2 by diving into the manga. Yukinobu Tatsu’s original “Dandadan” manga series was a beloved title on Shueisha’s Jump+ app. Although it gained momentum in Japan, its popularity was more niche among international manga enthusiasts. However, that has shifted significantly since the successful launch of its official TV anime adaptation this Fall. But now, the anticipation for new episodes sets in.
Following the last episode of its inaugural season this Autumn, I’ve learned that the popular anime “Dandadan” will be back for Season 2. Slated to air in July as part of the Summer 2025 anime lineup, it seems like quite a long wait until we get more episodes. If the nail-biting cliffhanger at the end of Season 1 leaves you eager to know what becomes of Momo Ayase, Okarun, and Jiji, then I’m happy to share that you can dive into the original manga from Chapter 34 to catch a glimpse of their future.
Where to Read Dandadan’s Manga After Season 1
To continue reading Yukinobu Tatsu’s original manga, Dandadan, and discover what follows the suspenseful cliffhanger, you should start from Chapter 34. This chapter initiates a fresh storyline that was hinted at in the last episode of the first season, as Okarun, Momo, and Jiji delve into a haunted house. Inside this cursed dwelling, Okarun and Jiji stumble upon a room filled with strange magical papers, suggesting there’s more to this story than meets the eye. The tension escalates as Momo was assaulted in an outdoor hot spring, leaving fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter, which is set for Summer.
If you wanted to check out the manga, you can find all chapters of Dandadan with Viz Media’s digital Shonen Jump library with a paid subscription. If you’d rather start with physical releases, then you’ll need to check out Dandadan Volume 5 (which features Jiji on the cover). The first season of the anime adapts a little over 30 chapters of the manga, and assuming Season 2 is going to be the same, then the next batch of episodes will be ending somewhere around Chapters 63-65. If all holds strong, then Season 2 is going to be a fun one.
What to Know for Dandadan Season 2
The second season of “Dandadan” is being developed with a planned airing in July as part of the Summer 2025 anime lineup. The original team from Season 1 will reprise their roles for the upcoming episodes. Fuga Yamashiro will direct the new episodes at Science Saru, and Abel Gongora will also contribute to Season 2. Hiroshi Seko will supervise all scripts, while kensuke ushio is responsible for the series’ new musical score.
Excitedly speaking here, I’m thrilled to share that the original voice actors from the first season are coming back for their roles in the upcoming season! If you’re as eager as me to keep up with the anime, and maybe even get a sneak peek at future events through the manga, you can now watch the entire first season of Dandadan on platforms like Netflix, Crunchyroll, and more. With both Japanese and English language options available, it’s never been easier to immerse yourself in this fantastic series. Given its immense popularity this year, there’s no better time than now to catch up, prepare yourself, and eagerly anticipate what lies ahead!
