Danny Dyer isn’t happy about backhanded praise for Rivals performance

As a long-time admirer of British television and cinema, I must say that Danny Dyer has proven yet again why he is a force to be reckoned with in the industry. His performance in Rivals on Disney Plus was nothing short of brilliant, and it’s about time critics acknowledge his talent beyond the stereotypes they often place upon him.

Danny Dyer responded to the subtle criticisms from critics regarding his part in the latest Disney Plus series titled “Rivals.

Previously from EastEnders, an actor shone in the role of Freddie Jones, a successful electronics entrepreneur. Numerous viewers found themselves captivated by the playful banter and romantic interactions between him and Lizzie Vereker, portrayed by Katherine Parkinson, throughout the course of the show.

In an episode of their podcast Live and Let Dyers, the actor remarked that some individuals had hinted at him being particularly talented as an actor, almost implying that he was the one who emerged triumphant from certain circumstances.

It seems I’m receiving a somewhat indirect criticism from these large newspapers, with comments like ‘Oh no.’ Interestingly, one headline reads, ‘The most surprising revelation about Rivals: Danny Dyer’s acting skills.’

“In a way, I’m going, ‘Oh, thanks for the compliment,’ at the same time going, ‘Well, f**k off!’”

After Rivals was aired, people expressed on social media that Dyer’s talent should not be confined to soap operas. Many appreciated his performance in the Disney Plus series and acknowledged that he has consistently delivered top-notch work throughout his career.

Initially, when the news broke out, there were some responses like, “Danny Dyer’s involvement lost me right there,” the actor added on.

There was some unfavorable reaction towards my departure, with people saying things like, “Oh my goodness, what’s happening at Disney? Why did they hire him?” Little did they know, how mistaken they were.

On the show “Rivals,” Dyer was brought together once more with ex-executive producer of “EastEnders,” Dominic Treadwell-Collins. Notably, it was Treadwell-Collins who transformed the series based on Jilly Cooper’s book titled “Rivals.

It’s undecided at this point whether Dyer will reprise his role as Freddie in future episodes. The streaming platform has not made a decision about whether Rivals will be renewed for a second season.

However, there is hope yet!

As a devoted movie enthusiast, let me tell you, if you’re not residing in a secluded cave, chances are you’ve heard whispers of the sensation that is ‘Rivals.’ The buzz surrounding this masterpiece has been deafening, and I must confess, I’ve never experienced anything quite like it before.

“But it’s been on the platform for just over a week, so give us a chance, but hopefully more news to come. Suffice to say, we love the show.”
