In honor of the late actor Kamar de los Reyes, who portrayed Hector Ayala (also known as the White Tiger) on Daredevil: Born Again, the series has made a heartfelt tribute to him.
In the fresh Disney Plus series, De los Reyes is significantly featured posthumously, starting from episode 2, appearing as one of Matt Murdock’s (portrayed by Charlie Cox) clients.
Before the main act unfolds in episode 2, a heartfelt dedication graces our screen: “To the memories of Kamar de los Reyes.” As a film enthusiast, I couldn’t help but pause and pay my respects.
In December 2024, at the age of 56, an actor who had gained fame for portraying Antonio Varga on ABC’s One Life to Live and Raul Menendez in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, lost his life after a long fight against cancer.
De los Reyes had also appeared in series including Sleepy Hollow, The Rookie, and All American.
Previously, the actress who portrayed Atarah in Agents of SHIELD, Sherri Saum, had a reaction to the trailer for Daredevil: Born Again.

This version maintains the original sentiment but uses simpler language and rephrases some phrases for clarity and easier readability.
Initially in Daredevil’s second episode titled ‘Born Again’, we witness Hector trying to halt a skirmish at a train station, but unfortunately, he ends up joining the physical altercation.
In the midst of their altercation, one of the men stumbles onto the rail tracks, only to be struck by an approaching train. It’s then disclosed that the fallen man was a New York Police Department officer, much like his fellow combatant who had met his end earlier.
Once Matt consents to defend Hector, who stands charged with murder, it subsequently emerges that he is none other than the masked avenger called the White Tiger. Later on, he shields Hector from vengeful NYPD officers seeking retribution.
