Daredevil: Born Again release window confirmed as Charlie Cox reveals season 2 filming begins soon

As a seasoned Marvel enthusiast with over three decades of comic book collecting under my belt, I must say that the announcement of “Daredevil: Born Again” has sent me into a frenzy! The return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock is like hearing the sweet sound of a bell tolling for justice in Hell’s Kitchen.

Fans of Marvel eagerly await the return of Daredevil, as it has been officially confirmed that the Disney Plus show “Daredevil: Born Again” will be released within a specified timeframe, which was revealed during the D23 Expo.

In March 2025, Charlie Cox reprises his role as Matt Murdock in a limited series. During the day, he’ll continue battling crime within the courtroom, while at night, he’ll patrol the streets of Hell’s Kitchen.

A sneak peek trailer featuring Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) and The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) was also shown at the D23 event in Anaheim, California on Friday (9th August 2024).

Cox also revealed that filming for the revamped show’s second season will begin very soon.

Not only did the gathering see the presence of actors like Cox, D’Onofrio, and Bernthal, but it also welcomed Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll back to reprise their characters, Matt’s friend Foggy Nelson and romantic interest Karen Page respectively.

In the upcoming series, we’ll see Wilson Bethel and Ayelet Zurer reprising their characters, Bullseye and Vanessa Marianna-Fisk respectively.

In 2015, the version of Daredevil that we know was first introduced on Netflix, garnering praise not just from viewers but also critics. However, it unexpectedly concluded after its third season.

After appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the character’s portrayal has sparked debate among fans due to its lighter, more humorous tone.

Initially, the show “Daredevil: Born Again” had the potential to exacerbate existing tensions, as rumors circulated that a previous draft of the script failed to acknowledge the happenings from the Netflix series.

Marvel underwent a creative transformation, inviting Dario Scardapane – known for his work as writer and producer on Netflix’s The Punisher – to develop a fresh take with stronger connections to its previous iterations.

Marvel Studios has faced some challenges recently, yet they’re now basking in the triumph of box-office hits like Deadpool and Wolverine. Moreover, there’s a lot of buzz surrounding the announcement that Robert Downey Jr is set to portray Doctor Doom in two upcoming Avengers movies.

It’s yet unclear if Daredevil and The Punisher will be part of upcoming collaborative works, but with rumors suggesting over 60 characters might make an appearance, we’re keeping our fingers crossed that there’ll be space for these two widely admired figures among the fan base.
