Daredevil: Born Again Showrunner Spills Season 2 Tea

Although “Daredevil: Born Again” is yet to arrive next week, showrunner Dario Scardapane disclosed that work for Season 2 is already progressing nicely. With a two-season order in place, filming for the second season is set to commence on February 28th. At a red carpet event for Season 1, we inquired if the scripts for Season 2 had been completed, and Scardapane replied “Yes, but…” with an emphasis that he’ll be tweaking the finale script right up until the final moments. However, he did mention there are seven scripts that are ready to roll as soon as production starts. The first season premieres on Disney+ on March 4th.

Scardapane shared that he often prefers to complete the final episode once filming has begun. He finds it exciting to observe visual elements and themes as they develop during production, and then weave them into the finale. Currently, we have seven scripts ready for filming, but he’s still fine-tuning the last one.

This series has a substantial lead-in due to its early start, which isn’t unexpected given the demanding shooting schedule ahead. The production is slated to run from this week until July, and it’s anticipated that Season 2 will debut during the first half of 2026. Each season will comprise nine episodes in total.

Originally, Born Again had secured a commitment for an entire season consisting of 18 episodes, and filming began as scheduled in March 2023. However, production came to a standstill in June because of the Hollywood labor strikes. Once production resumed, Marvel Studios revised its plans for the series, breaking it down into two distinct seasons instead. The first season will be incorporated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Five, while the second season will be part of Phase Six.

For devoted Daredevil enthusiasts, this two-season deal with Disney+ represents a long-awaited dream. After years of anticipation, they’re finally getting another chance to witness their beloved character on screen. Originally airing from 2015 to 2018 on Netflix, each season comprised 13 episodes. Since then, the landscape of superhero streaming series has significantly evolved, and fans are thrilled about Daredevil’s potential deeper integration into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in “Born Again”.

The highly-anticipated series “Daredevil: Born Again” will make its debut on Disney+ starting Tuesday, March 4th. To kick things off, viewers can enjoy the first two episodes. For those who’d like a quick recap, the previous series is currently streaming on Disney+.
