Daredevil Returns: Matt Murdock’s Epic Battle in Black Armor Against Hell’s Daredemon!

Matt Murdock has experienced a journey from the depths of hell and returned to the world. In his mission to save Foggy Nelson and Stick’s souls from the demonic grasp of the Beast, the god-like demon of the ninja cult known as the Hand, he was reborn in the current storyline written by Saladin Ahmed. Now, as Father Matthew, a Catholic priest at Saint Nicholas Youth Home in Hell’s Kitchen, he’s been battling the demons that have followed him out of Hell.

Matt’s Seven Deadly Sins – Sloth (Elektra), Envy (Ben Urich), Gluttony (She-Hulk), Lust (Wolverine), Greed (Kingpin), Pride (Foggy Nelson), and Wrath (Matt’s ward Jason) – have taken control of Matt’s allies and enemies, using them as tools for their vengeance on Earth. Matt has abandoned his commitments and rejected his belief in God. In Daredevil #18, coming in February, Wrath-possessed Jason put Daredevil in a difficult situation: choose between saving his dearest friend Foggy or the assassin Bullseye.

As a devoted fan, I can’t contain my excitement! Issue #19 of Daredevil, available on stands March 26, will finally unravel that nail-biting cliffhanger and conclude the epic “Introductory Rites” storyline that began with the relaunch of volume 8 in 2023. The following issue, #20 (written by Ahmed with art by Jose Luis Soares), heralds a fresh start with a new adversary, the reappearance of an old love interest, Nyla Skin, and the return of Daredevil’s iconic Black Armor!

30 years ago, I hung up my black armor during Daredevil #345, but now, as a film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to find myself slipping back into it. This time, it’s during the gripping seven-part “Fall From Grace” arc penned by D.G. Chichester, who gave Hornhead a ’90s makeover in his recent Daredevil: Black Armor miniseries. Alongside artist Scott McDaniel, we see Matt Murdock face off against the terrifying twin Hellspawn. It’s a return to the black armor I haven’t experienced since 1995, and I can hardly wait to see where this latest adventure takes us!

As a die-hard Marvel Comics fan, I’ve just got an exclusive sneak peek at issue #20 of Daredevil! It features the chilling debut of Daredemon, who’s been stalking Matt Murdock in his nightmares and tracking down Bullseye. The armored Daredevil is then seen patrolling the streets of Hell’s Kitchen to put a stop to this menace. Can’t wait to read more!
