Dark and Darker: Best Class Tier List for Season 6 | Solo, Duo, Trio & Arena

In Season 6, we’ve got “Dark and Darker” – this signifies a fresh start, so let’s create a new rankings list to determine which class shines brightest in the game.

Absolutely, a top-tier class in one playstyle doesn’t automatically make it the best in every playstyle within this game. Choosing a class for solo play isn’t equivalent to choosing one for a three-player team. In teams, you must take into account your party’s makeup and various factors.

As such, we’ll give you a tier list that ranks every class from best to worst in every single mode!

Best Class Tier List for Dark and Darker Season 6 | Standard Play Mode

Solo

In the context of solo queueing, we’re evaluating each class based on their overall effectiveness in combat against other classes, given that there’s no one else to depend on. Since you’re by yourself, it’s crucial to prepare for potential hostility from most players right off the bat.

Considering this point, the Ranger and Rogue are our top-tier recommendations without a doubt. Their adaptability and robustness make them hardly weak against other classes. The Ranger can effortlessly outdistance and eliminate most other characters, while the Rogue can deftly dodge or counter almost everything. This versatility is also evident in their PvE (Player vs Environment) performance.

In the top category, we’ve grouped classes that are highly adaptable and potent, but may encounter difficult matchups. For instance, the Druid is generally one of the strongest classes in the game at present. However, they can be completely neutralized if they face a skilled Ranger or Rogue. Essentially, the top-tier classes must choose their battles more strategically.

For Tier B, we’ve got a trio of spellcasters. They tend to struggle due to needing particular arrangements and generally moving at a slow pace. Other classes can usually eliminate them before they even get their spells in motion. This is particularly problematic against Rangers and Rogues, who are incredibly hazardous!

In summary, the ‘C’ in ‘C Tier’ signifies Cleric. It’s essential to note that the Cleric class is not inherently weak; however, it heavily relies on teamwork with other characters. Due to its low damage output, restricted choices, and slow pace, it may not be the best option for solo play.

Duo

In a duo setting, Duo tends to be more balanced across all classes. They perform well when appropriately matched with compatible classes and if both players support each other effectively. Interestingly enough, the points made about the Ranger in the solo section are still applicable in a duo scenario. Consequently, it remains in the S tier in this mode as well.

Indeed, you should expect to find the Ranger at the top of the rankings across every part of this ominous Tier List for Season 6. It stands out as the most adaptable class.

Regarding the classification, it’s worth noting that many duo classes fall into the A tier. However, when it comes to this scenario, the choice of partner is more crucial than the individual class. Essentially, Fighters, Bards, Rogues, Wizards, Druids, and Clerics work harmoniously with every other class here. Therefore, choose whichever you’re most comfortable with, as they’re all excellent options!

It’s worth mentioning that while Rogue isn’t quite as strong as solos, this is primarily because the class doesn’t offer many team-focused abilities compared to others. Conversely, Wizard excels more in duos than solo matches. This is mostly due to the fact that the second player can compensate for the Wizard’s meditation periods.

In the B tier, we find classes that often struggle to work harmoniously with other classes. For instance, the Barbarian is overshadowed by the Fighter’s adaptability. The Sorcerer still encounters problems with long cast times and cooldowns in team play, and there’s a risk of unintentionally harming allies with spells. Lastly, due to numerous nerfs, Warlock has become less appealing compared to other classes overall.

Trio

Once again, much like past rankings, the Ranger holds the number one spot in our S-tier category. Indeed, it’s the cream of the crop in Season 6 of Dark and Darker, according to our tier classification!

In the top tier of choices, Ranger isn’t the only one. The Healer, or Cleric, is another excellent choice when playing in teams of three. With the other team members compensating for the Cleric’s relatively slower pace and slightly lower damage output, the Cleric can concentrate on healing and boosting the party. This healing ability is crucial for survivability, making the Cleric almost essential.

In our top-tier group, we’ve included the majority of other classes as they perform effectively across various team compositions. However, it’s worth noting that Barbarians excel more than Fighters in trios. This is largely due to Barbarians being able to focus more on tanking roles in trios compared to duos, particularly when supported by Bards and Clerics.

In the B tier, these classes generally don’t stand out compared to others. For instance, the Fighter is surpassed by the Barbarian, and the Rogue doesn’t bring much to a team setting. Similarly, the Sorcerer faces the same issues as it does in duos, making the Wizard class more appealing at the moment. However, it’s important to note that these classes are not poor choices; they simply don’t perform as well as some others.

Dark and Darker: Best Class Tier List for Season 6 | Arena Mode – Solo Queue

In Arena’s 3v3 format, our tier list predominantly considers the degree of dependence on teammates. Since you’ll always be partnered with two others, not everyone will align perfectly with your class. This is particularly noticeable at lower ranks, where team coordination may be less consistent. After all, it can be tricky to predict how random teammates will play!

In the realm of Dark and Darker’s Season 6, I find myself consistently impressed with my chosen characters – the Ranger and the Fighter. These two standouts excel in their individual prowess, requiring minimal assistance from teammates, earning them top-tier status on the list.

Just like top-tier classes, they’re generally effective across most teams. However, it’s important to note that the performance of Wizard, Bard, and Cleric in Arena can greatly depend on teamwork. If your teammates don’t collaborate during gameplay, these characters may not reach their full potential and could be neutralized instead.

Regarding B, C, and D tier options, they’ll heavily rely on how well your teammates perform. Warlock, in particular, is considered the least effective as it necessitates significant assistance from teammates to shine. However, all of the lower-tier classes are highly dependent on teamwork. Luck will play a crucial role when choosing them!

Dark and Darker: Best Class Tier List for Season 6 | Arena Mode – Trio Queue

In Arena, like standard trios, success is largely determined by the makeup of your team rather than the strength of any individual class. Since you’re not dealing with random teammates, you can strategize better and ideally communicate more effectively. As a result, every class holds roughly equal weight and could be considered top-tier.

To be sure, there are instances where this doesn’t apply, like the Rogue and Fighter in B Tier. As we discussed earlier, the Rogue often operates independently, and the Fighter may not stand out compared to the Barbarian in a team setting. Interestingly enough, even in Arena combat, the Warlock tends to overshadow the Fighter.

To sum up, the Sorcerer is a solo C tier class due to its impressive magic damage output but struggles when compared to the Wizard and Warlock. It’s tricky to handle and can sometimes cause friendly fire, making it less effective in many team compositions.

Here it is! This concludes our season 6 rankings for all classes in every mode for both Dark and Darker. Please remember that this is just an overview. Each class has its unique playstyles and builds, so there’s a lot more to explore. However, we believe these rankings serve as a solid starting point, reflecting the game’s current status.
