Dark Domain Shared Horror Universe Kicks Off With Mickey Mouse Battling Winnie-the-Pooh

It seems that one interconnected horror universe based on cherished childhood characters isn’t quite enough to satisfy fans. The Twisted Childhood Universe, which began with the release of “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey“, has proven particularly successful among recent public domain horror remakes. Now, Untouchables Entertainment is eager to join the fray by creating a large-scale IP crossover. The upcoming film, “The Dark Domain: MVW Mickey-vs-Winnie“, will indeed feature Mickey Mouse and Winnie-the-Pooh squaring off in a horror movie setting. Glenn Douglas Packard’s low-budget horror flick marks the beginning of the Dark Domain, with plans for additional characters and films to follow. On Monday, the initial teaser trailer for the film was unveiled, and you can watch it at the top of this page.

For clarity, it’s important to note that this has no connection whatsoever with the “Blood and Honey” series or the Poohniverse/Twisted Childhood Universe films. The title “Mickey-vs-Winnie” represents a fresh beginning, originating from different creators and a separate production company.

Packard stated, “It’s fantastic that we can breathe new life into those cherished childhood characters from A.A. Milne’s Winnie-the-Pooh (1926) and the 1928 Mickey Mouse’s Steamboat Willie, creating a completely different, dark world. Our movie can be likened to an alternate reality where these public domain figures engage in a horrifying battle reminiscent of Freddy Krueger versus Jason Voorhees.

Although the exact release date for “Dark Domain” hasn’t been announced as of now, it’s completed its post-production stage and is anticipated to debut this year. It’s still uncertain if the film will hit theaters or opt for an on-demand launch.

A hundred years back, two criminal outlaws vanished without a trace into the ominous Hell Forest, a place shrouded in chilling myths and rumors of an evil curse. Their unexplained disappearance sparked stories about a menacing presence dwelling within the forest, preying on the courageous souls who dared to venture there.

In modern times, a close-knit group of childhood comrades, burdened by unresolved past traumas and apprehensions, find themselves inexplicably lured to revisit the reform school they had once attended. Situated smack dab in the dense, ominous forest, the dilapidated remnants of their former tormenting institution stand as a chilling reminder of their shattered innocence and a repository for forgotten nightmares. The school’s desolate walls resonate with secrets long buried and horrors long forgotten. An enigmatic force seems to draw them all, as if the forest itself is urging them to face the shadows of their fears, remorse, and unhealed emotional scars. The forest materializes in the grotesque likenesses of two cherished figures from their past: Dark Mickey and Dark Winnie. These malevolent manifestations, spawned from the darkest recesses of their collective psyche, embody their deepest apprehensions and regrets. Dark Mickey, a manipulative, bloodthirsty agent of chaos, represents their worst fears, while Dark Winnie, a wild predator feeding on destruction, symbolizes their most haunting memories.

In a fierce and relentless struggle, their combat transcends mere physicality. The monstrous manifestations, spawned from their deepest internal struggles, compel them to grapple not just with fearsome entities, but also confront the shadows hidden in their own souls.
