Dave Bautista Calls on Fans to Petition for Live-Action Gears of War

Recently, there seems to be little fresh news regarding Netflix’s upcoming Gears of War movie. Fans have certainly picked up on this and, among them, Guardians of the Galaxy star and WWE Legend Dave Bautista has made it clear that he is interested in the project. In fact, fans have shown support for a Bautista-led Gears of War movie as well. Now, Bautista is urging fans to start a petition to help revive the project, and during an interview with ComicBook about his latest film, The Lost Lands, he mentioned that he has been reaching out to Netflix about Gears of War on his own as well.

Bautista expressed his eagerness about creating an online buzz for the Gears of War series when discussing a possible film adaptation. He urged Netflix, saying, ‘Netflix, let’s do this! Hurry up!’ Bautista also admitted that he’s been persistently asking Netflix, adding, ‘I’m not holding back, Netflix. Get your act together.’

Part Two, and Doctor Strange, was now working on the script for the movie.

According to Spaihts, “Gears of War” is a standout action game with captivating characters, an immersive environment, and a battle system that emphasizes the harsh reality of war and the value of teamwork. Essentially, it aims to be cinematic, and he’s excited about his role in bringing this vision to life.

The Coalition is excited to collaborate with Jon and the Netflix team in bringing the Gears of War series to reality. Jon, known for his skill in crafting intricate science fiction narratives and his passion for Gears of War, makes him an ideal partner to preserve the essence of our franchise and deliver a genuine tale to our fans.

Regarding Bautista playing the character Marcus in the movie, Cliff Bleszinski, the creator of Gears of War, has expressed approval of this casting idea. In 2022, Bleszinski voiced his support on Twitter, saying, “Absolutely yes for Bautista as Marcus – and let’s have a Latino actor for Dom, come on!

It’s quite plausible that Bautista would be an excellent fit for Marcus in the upcoming project by Netflix. Here’s hoping that he gets involved with the production when they proceed. Until then, movie enthusiasts can catch him on the big screen in his new movie “In The Lost Lands”. For more details about the film, you can find its official description below.
