Dave Bautista Praises CM Punk's Acting Ability: "I'd Love to Work With Him"

As a longtime fan who has witnessed both the wrestling and acting careers of CM Punk, I can confidently say that the man is a true renaissance talent. His seven-year hiatus from professional wrestling was far from idle, as he delved into the world of acting with a fervor reminiscent of his in-ring exploits.

During a seven-year absence from professional wrestling, CM Punk stayed active. After departing WWE in 2014 and essentially stepping away from the wrestling ring, he retired at age 35. With his schedule now vacant, Punk delved into larger entertainment ventures, securing various acting roles. He featured in three horror films and made guest and recurring appearances on shows like ‘Heels’ and ‘Mayans M.C.’ Since his comeback to wrestling in 2021, he has momentarily halted his acting career. However, his recent association with Paradigm Talent Agency hints at his potential return to acting when the timing is right.

Dave Bautista Praises CM Punk’s Acting Ability

Whenever CM Punk is ready to get back on the sets, a familiar face is waiting for him.

In an interview with BuzzFeed Celeb, Dave Bautista expressed his admiration for Punk, stating that he sees potential in him for the acting world and would be thrilled to collaborate with him on a future project.

As a fan, I can’t help but feel that CM Punk, or Phil Brooks as you might know him, has been underestimated as an actor. Granted, he’s still deeply involved in professional wrestling, but I truly believe his acting potential is vast and untapped. I eagerly await more performances from him on the silver screen, and I’d be thrilled to share a set with him one day. I sense a genuine passion for acting within him, yet it seems his heart remains in the world of wrestling. Phil Brooks, if given the chance, could make a fantastic actor.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but marvel at Punk’s captivating acting journey so far. He’s made a significant impact on television, collaborating with Stephen Amell in the series “Heels” and delving into the “Sons of Anarchy” universe through “Mayans M.C.” Now, the exciting news is that he’ll be teaming up with director Ben Kitnick for an upcoming indie comedy titled “Let’s Start a Cult“, scheduled to hit screens this October.

Bautista’s enthusiasm for teaming up with Punk on a movie or TV project marks a shift from his past perspective on collaborating with fellow ex-wrestlers. Earlier, he had rejected the notion of working with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and John Cena in a film. The upcoming movie “ The Killer’s Game” signifies this change, as Bautista acts alongside WWE’s Drew McIntyre in several scenes for the first time in his career.

The Killer’s Game hits theaters on Friday, September 13th.
