David Hayter Says He is Doing Voice Work for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater That He “Can’t Really Talk About Yet”

As a dedicated Metal Gear Solid fan who has grown up with David Hayter’s iconic portrayal of Solid Snake and Big Boss, it’s like a dream come true to see him back in the fold for the upcoming remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. It feels like coming home again after a long journey, much like returning to the lush jungles of the Russian wilderness that first captivated me all those years ago.

For quite some time now, David Hayter has played a significant role in the Metal Gear series, providing the voices for characters like Solid Snake and Big Boss. Over the last ten years or so, it seemed that his involvement with the franchise might have finished, especially after Kiefer Sutherland took over as the voice actor in Metal Gear Solid 5. However, more recently, he’s been reintroduced to the game world once again.

Apart from playing a significant role in the promotions and marketing of the upcoming “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater”, Hayter is also among several actors providing new voiceovers for the remake. The specifics of what this involves are yet to be revealed, and Hayter’s recent comments hint that the voicework he is doing might contain more than meets the eye.

During an interview with Kakuchopurei on YouTube, when questioned about his role in the development of Metal Gear Solid Delta, Hayter mentioned that he is currently recording voiceovers for the remake but cannot reveal details about it just yet.

Initially, there were discussions between Konami and myself, and I joined their team to assist with promotions and collaborate with them. They’ve allowed me a peek into their operations, and I had the opportunity to play a part of the game several months ago. There are certain aspects of my voicework that I can’t disclose just yet, but I’m contributing to the game’s success and have a significant role, which is great.

Previously, Konami announced that they would be using the original voice recordings for “Metal Gear Solid Delta,” with some exceptions being re-recorded lines. It’ll be intriguing to discover just how much of Hayter’s new voice acting in the remake will be used.

Development on the game “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater” is underway for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and personal computers. However, a specific launch date has yet to be announced.
