David Tennant’s Trump jokes among moments edited out of BAFTAs broadcast

During the EE BAFTA Film Awards of last night, several jests aimed at former U.S. President Donald Trump that were delivered by David Tennant were edited out of the BBC’s broadcast.

In a different wording, the well-known actor resumed his role as the host for the awards show; however, not every joke aimed at the present U.S. military leader was included in the final version.

According to Deadline, Tennant stated that it seemed improbable for Trump to have watched the movie biography, The Apprentice, because “it’s rated 15 and it’s not available on Nickelodeon.

He commented: “I can’t help but express concern. Mentioning Donald Trump three times feels akin to saying ‘Beetlejuice’ thrice in the movies; I seem to have conjured him.

Nevertheless, certain jests by Tennant found their way into the BBC’s airwaves. In reference to the movie “The Brutalist,” Tennant humorously commented: “It’s the most daring architectural film this year, except perhaps Donald Trump’s coiffure in The Apprentice.

Moving onto his next jest, Tennant remarked, “Let’s discuss villains…”, drawing approving cheers from the crowd.

The audience applauded Tennant for his outstanding hosting performance yet again, particularly his interpretation of “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by The Proclaimers.

The song he created included brief and delightful collaborations with Colman Domingo, Celia Imrie, Camila Cabello, Anna Kendrick, and James McAvoy.
