It’s like stepping into a parallel dimension where the familiar faces are twisted with an unfathomable darkness, yet there remains that glimmer of hope that has always defined our heroes.
The event titled “DC All In” signaled a fresh start for the DC Universe, but the aftermath from “Absolute Power” requires time to resolve. Yet, that’s not the only hurdle our DC heroes will encounter. As hinted in “All In,” Darkseid has fashioned a new universe teeming with perils and opportunities, which goes by the name of the Absolute Universe. Interestingly, this is the outcome of a narrative started by Scott Snyder in “Dark Nights Metal” over three years ago, and all the pieces are now fittingly aligned in DC All In.
The Origins of The Absolute Universe
Initially, let’s discuss the events unfolding in DC All In Special #1. The storyline revolves around a fierce battle between heroes and Darkseid, who has harnessed Spectre’s power to invade this reality. Despite their best efforts, the heroes manage to separate him from Spectre and defeat him. However, the victory comes at a cost as the confrontation results in an explosion that presumably eliminates Darkseid but also creates a significant tear in time and space.
What Is The Alpha World/The Elseworld
In simpler terms, we find out in the comic “All In” that Darkseid’s death and the energy he released affected another world known as the Alpha World or Elseworld. This world was previously unfinished and opposite of our Earth. Now, it’s fully formed and emits the same kind of energy as Darkseid. He hinted at the end of “All In” that this new world would be driven by challenges and turmoil, forming the Absolute Universe in his image.
What Is DC All In?
After the occurrences depicted in Absolute Power, the principal heroes of the main DC Universe have worked tirelessly to bridge deep-seated divisions globally, paving the way for a new epoch of unity. This timing proves crucial as Darkseid resurfaces once more! Superman rallies all Earth-bound DC Super Heroes to fortify their defenses, preparing for a colossal war against an unexpected reincarnation of Apokolips’ ruler.
